As some will be aware Nello was brought in as kit man by Lou Macari. A film has been made of his life.

There was a film premiere in London at the British Film Institute last week and a showing in Stoke one evening.

It is now being shown on BB2 on 25th September at 9pm. I am told it is really a good watch and appeals whether you have an interest in sport or not. So put that date in your calendar.

I was also told that Lou attended the premiere in London but had to rush off to get a train back up from Euston whilst Nello had a chauffeur and a hotel for the night before being chauffered home the following day. Apparently Lou said on the night, he felt he ought to be getting Nello's autograph. So on Friday the Sentinel got both together and organised that!

The movie/play is called 'Marvellous' (Nello's stock phrase)


BTW Lou is my favourite/best manager since St Waddo of Boothen
 
Yes I should have put that the title was 'Marvellous.'

Lou was great. I loved it when we had Steino and Sheron upfront with the ability to come back from 2 down and draw. I well remember a night at Luton when with minutes to go Sheron and Sigurdsson got two goals to send us away happy. We may have won 2-1 or else it was a draw! It may have been also that Sheron got both. I will stand corrected! The memory is no so good.

Well If any of you do not know he also attended the inaugeration of teh Archbishop of Canterbury.

Also parents at Keele have been searching him out to get an autograph and he has already 8 new signings for his team. He is taking them to Cambridge Univeristy over a weekend in November and Uriah Reniie has agreed to referee!

One other thing Stoke are presenting him to the crowd on Monday night!


It seems that this thread gets more hits than the one I created but will post on both!
 
The other thing I learnt was that Stoke have given him a lifetime season ticket. No doubt he asked!!

Stoke 97 living in Stevenage ought to get to Cambridge. I will post if I can which picth the team is playing on.

Funny? He didn't ask me to play for Nello' s team. But I would be the kit man. <laugh>
