He came as a breath of fresh air
Took players and fans by storm,
Encouraging attacking flair
And made attractive play the norm

Then one game up there on the Tyne
Changed all of that, and for the worse,
He lost all faith that he could shine
And now he´s leaving in a hearse

Inevitable, maybe, for most
As bosses everywhere will know,
It can be a chilly outpost
Where they must take blow after blow

There´ll be relief for many now
And optimism too will return,
But I´m keeping mine fairly low
Until we all happen to learn...

..just who, in their wisdom they choose
To take on the next chapter here,
And whether the players can ooze
The sort of form to make us cheer. OTBC

As you say sir, this was inevitable in this modern era of immediate success or off you go but what sickens me is the amount of rejoicing over a man losing his job, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, let alone a man who originally brought a lot of happiness to my beloved club!

Agree with you Dave, but isn´t that just another sign of the times we live in, if some people don´t get what they want, and get it when they want it, the atmosphere very soon becomes toxic.

And although it was pretty well inevitable Dave, I think it´s far too soon to start getting excited yet, but at least we should get a clearer idea of whether this season´s misery can be attributed to Neil or the players, and in what sort of proportion. I´m by no means convinced that we´ve ousted out the main culprit.

Agreed RBF, but the atmosphere was about as toxic as the end of Chris Hughton's reign!

Pardew or Hodgson would be my

Have to admit I´m not sure about either of those two. Hodgson, if he came, I would always fear was only coming because of his association with Delia, and the feeling that he couldn´t turn her down. Pardew I´ve never been completely convinced about, he seems to do well in patches, but then can unaccountably go weeks without a win or a draw. In fact I have no real idea at all about who they should go for, but for all our sakes, I certainly hope they do, but you can bet your life, at the first signs of a wobble, the fans will jump down the board´s throats again.
