Would love Warnock at the club and I seriously think he would come here aswell, he's always spoke very highly of the club and we used to have some superb matches against his teams particularly Sheffield Utd!!! I cannot pass judgement on Osman as a manager because there's nothing to judge as for Butcher no thanks, Ipswich legend but as a manager his record is poor and comes accross as lacking managerial nouse relying on how he played, workrate and passion. I would be extremely concerned about the club if Butcher was appointed manager!!!
Of course there is cause for concern atm, I think my problem is I have been really concerned about the direction of this football club since the day Keane was appointed and IMO atm I'm experiencing a sort of inevitability about the situation we currently find ourselves in!!
Absolutely NO to Warnock. Butcher? I still remember the relegation season when we played Oxford (yes, that long ago) and we HAD to win. Not only did he keep the team pumped up, but he kept running up to the Churchman's crowd and getting us going too. Of course we ended up getting relegated and he fecked off, so what do I know? But a bit of genuine homegrown passion (and mighty big bollox) is what we need right now, and if anyone appreciates the value of the Town youth system it's him. My mum used to work with his mum, you know But there are some other ex blues I would like to see - Taricco, anyone? QI-style klaxon for any deluded twit who mentions Curbishley as being 'worth a thought' or similar.
Hi all! Thought I'd finally get round to signing up, and seeing how much our sh1t beloved club are in, now would be a good time to say hello! Warnock would be a good replacement, but I fear he would think he is bigger than the club. He is a well known manager, and he knows that. He is very big headed imo and yes, he is brilliant in this division, but if he could get us up (big if with the current squad), I am sure he would bring us down again as his track record in the EPL isn't great. For stability he would be great, but for long term plans, I don't know. We all go on about young and hungry players, why not a young, promising manager?!
I hate opposition teams managed by Neil Warnock but would love him at my club. You can not question his ability to put a team together, fight and win. His record speaks for itself and other than a personal dislike of the guy ( I can understand why) I can not see any reason why he wouldnt be wanted.
I mentioned Tarricco a few days ago and i would take Warnock he is a manager that people love to hate but he does get players playing.
I wouldn't say no to Warnock as manager, and I think he would relish the challenge of saving our season. Though with Clegg seemingly still backing PJ (for him to waste more money during the transfer window), I'd say it's pretty unlikely unless he has a change of heart.
I wouldn't be to concerned about Colin, he has proven record in recent times, plus he hates norwich and has publically pointed out that they cheats. I wouldn't say no to Butcher and Osman aswell, hopefully being the best defensive partnership they would know the best way to sort out this pressing issue.
If you could sort out compensation for him, how about Tony Mobray? Wasn't he very highly thought of by you guys when he played for you?
Be careful about wishing for someone who bleeds blue and white. Bryan Gunn bled yellow and green, and look what happened to us ........... on second thoughts though....
Likewise, no to Butcher or Osman !!!!!!!!!!! Former good players don't make great managers! Magilton as put before - how on earth was he tried and tested !?!? Keane did it once before........... however he was risky. We all know what he's like. Jewell - 5050 record before............. gamble perhaps worth taking.... Warnock. Ah Warnock.... Promotions 1986–87: Conference winners (promotion to Division 4) – Scarborough 1989–90: Division 3 Playoff winners (promotion to Division 2) – Notts County 1990–91: Division 2 Playoff winners (promotion to Division 1) – Notts County 1994–95: Division 2 Playoff winners (promotion to Division 1) – Huddersfield Town 1995–96: Division 3 Playoff winners (promotion to Division 2) – Plymouth Argyle 2005–06: Championship runners-up (promotion to Premier League) – Sheffield United 2010–11: Championship winners (promotion to Premier League) – Queens Park Rangers Worked miracles in keeping Palace up....... Why on earth would you not want the guy!? Speaks so much sense its untrue. YES to Warnock. HOWEVER - would he have any interest in coming !? We've always had a mini feud with him and have often hurled abuse at him from the stands.
Completely agree. Although he only talks sense if he's had a good result, he can be an absolute prat but at least he has a bit of character and a sense of humour!! IMO I think he would jump at the chance to manage Ipswich, he's always had good words to say about the place and the fans, we've had feuds but in his own words after Naylor tried to strangle him, he was only having some friendly banter with the fans.
one thing is for sure, you wouldn't go down if you appointed warnock. you have to ignore the fact he praises your fans before every game - he does that with every club. before every single norwich match he praises the fans, saying we're 'second to none', that the club is very special and that he was very disappointed that he never got the job (he was interviewed for the job at norwich once). he says what people want to hear before a match and then when you invariably beat his team, which we almost always do, he turns 180 degrees and gives you a barrage of abuse. i still remember him lavishing praise before a game against sheffield united, a promotion 6-pointer. we then beat them comfortably and he stuck two fingers up at worthington and two fingers up at the crowd! what a charming man he is. if he had become norwich manager i wouldn't have sung his name, that is for sure. it is never his fault, it is always someone elses and because he doesn't realise when things are his fault he is unable to correct them. he, in my opinion, is a disgraceful human being but, and it is a big but, he is a good football manager at championship level so if you are willing to look beyond his appalling attitude and ridiculous comments, you will have someone capable of at least steadying the ship. below is an article on the guardian website where it shows how tactically naive warnock is, so he certainly has his limitations, and that for me is why he was always going to be sacked this season. he just hits a ceiling ability wise. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/jan/09/neil-warnock-loved-qpr?
