WARNOCK 'OPTIMISTIC' ON TRANSFERSPosted on: Mon 11 Jul 2011 R's gaffer Neil Warnock is 'optimistic' he can get one or two signings tied up in the coming weeks. Warnock has had to be patient so far in his pursuit to add new players to the Rangers squad ahead of the new Barclays Premier League campaign, but the waiting could soon be over according to the Hoops boss. "It has been frustrating so far," he admitted. "We need to sign five or six players really and we've got a number of targets. "I'm still optimistic we can bring enough good players in to help us in the coming season. "We're down the line with a couple. We need strikers and centre-halves and I'm hoping to bring one or two in soon. "We're working hard to get value for money and players in on the kind of wage structure that is in place here for the Barclays Premier League. "I'm sure over the next four or five weeks we can get some of the players in that I want." Regardless of who comes in, Warnock is relishing the start to the season, commenting: "Whoever comes in, we're going to have a right old good time and enjoy it. "We're going to give people a good run for their money, believe you me!" http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2390298,00.html
Helpful resume, RTID. It's incredibly disappointing that we're already talking (with good reason) about going back down to the Championship before a ball is kicked. We've got to stay patient and pray the ownership thing is resolved before Xmas.
So he gives a negative interview then within 2 hours SSN are saying we are on the verge of signing campbell and bothroyd , and an article on Bullard. I personally would welcome all 3 into the squad but really don't know what to believe at the moment.
See the effect you're having Swords old bean? You'd better provide the link for the Samaritans cos he won't be the last.
I didn't think Warnock's interview was negative. Yes, there were undercurrents reflecting his concerns relating to all the fears expressed on here... BUT he handled it like a politician fielding questions his position prevents him from answering fully - at least until offish announcements are made. He's brilliant at this (wish I was half as good in my neck of the woods). He delivered his stuff with that twinkle in his eye that separates him from so many of his peers. He's like WBA2, Willy twins etc.. Makes an indifferent day feel good - and blows clouds like me, Swords and other diehard realists (if that's the expression) away - for a while at least!
