I'm sure I saw him lurking in the 6 yard box waiting to tap in Bertrand's cross if Shackell had missed it!

I like Pelle and appreciate what he gives the team, but if you watch the OG back, you will notice that Pelle watched the ball all the way in, but had Shackell missed it, so would Pelle have, because he would have been too far away from it.
Other strikers would have seen the cross coming in, and stepped forward, so that should the defender have missed it, they wouldn't.

Pelle is a good striker, but not necessarily an instinctive goal scorer, who automatically finds himself in the right position to score tap ins.

I love Pelle and I so want him to score (not just for Saints, but for himself), but I have seen a few occasions where his reflexes seem too slow. A ball rebounds and he is too slow to pounce. I think his legs are too long....the message is too slow getting from his hair to his feet :)

I thought he was lining up for a chest down and kick.

I'm sorry we dropped some points and have made it hard for ourselves, but I still don't get angry at the players. They have been brilliant...you only have to look at the teams we are in competition with to see how far we have come. I rank us with Liverpool, Spurs and a poor (probably just for now) United...in the past we'd have killed to be compared with West Ham and Newcastle.

No, I'd still kill someone who compared us to West Ham or Newcastle.

Crikey..! Refreshingly honest, it seems. No indeed, Southampton doesn't exactly register high on the interesting chart, but it has other attributes. It's very close to interesting places.

I wonder if he knows that we had the crap bombed out of us during WWII and never fully recovered [according to a Saints staff member], which is probably true.

Something said in a conversation can sound bad if reported baldly in print. He's basically saying there is not much going on and he goes to London for a night out. Pelle said that as well. I bet anyone living outside the big cities might say that. We shouldn't be surprised if someone used to city life on the continent finds Southampton a bit provincial.

Maybe not to 26 year old footballers.

A glowing tribute FLT. I have taken the liberty of forwarding your comment to the Antwerp Tourist Board to quote in their literature.

It's not as good as the draught I wrote, but you know ... it gets the message out there :) I am available to help your business with marketing and copy writing.
