Or you could take a look on the MOTM thread and see that in a game where everyone played brilliantly, Aluko has been singled out as the best by the vast majority of people who actually watched the game. It was his best game since the one he played against Leeds in the Championship at the KC, but since you wouldn't really have been able to watch the Championship over is Oz you have no idea how good he can be.
Are you serious - that was over a year ago! So he hasn't played a good game since the one last night? Geezus. If you guys were born as fishes you would have got caught the first day you swam out on your own, you bite so easily. I can see by his stats how good he is Will.
He hasn't played a brilliant game since then no, although much of that is to do with his injury problems. He is finally coming back into fantastic form and yet all you care about are the statistics
What I care about Will is how many goals we put past the opposition. Aluko has managed one. That's one more than McGreggor and Harper.
And his excellent skills last night meant that we kept the ball at their end of the pitch for much longer than we would have if he hadn't been playing. Without him making the ball stick up top we would have faced many more attempts on goal from Liverpool and most probably would have conceded. As it happened Aluko was a key reason for us keeping a clean sheet and making us play higher up the pitch, therefore he had a very good game. Football is not about scoring as many goals as possible, it's about scoring one more than the other team.
Some Aussies stayed up all night or got up at 4am to travel into the city to watch the game.. and he couldn't bother to wake up and pull up a stream on his computer?
Why? You sound like the Bolton fans when they had Megson in charge. The year they qualified for Europe through the league they won a lot of games 1-0 and fans were moaning that they weren't scoring enough goals. We've got our goalscorers in Jelavic and N'Doye (who incidentally didn't score either but was excellent throughout), the other forwards are deployed for different reasons. He was brilliant last night and while nobody is going to convince you that because he didn't manage a goal he was crap, 25,000 people plus the millions who were watching across the world saw him making a right knob out of one of Britain's best teams. If he played like that every game and didn't manage a goal it wouldn't matter at all, his passing and momentum kept the ball where it was most needed and had he not played, we probably wouldn't have won. I agree with you that Aluko shouldn't be classed as a striker, because he really isn't, he's almost a playmaker, but with Jelavic and N'Doye in the side, he won't fit into our formation. But if he plays like he did last night in every game between now and the end of the season, Brucey might just think twice about how we play and try and accomodate him a little more.
Aluko was just about man of the match but TigerRoo doesn't care. N'Doye was also **** because he didn't score. The only players who had a good game were Elmo and Dawson because they have an assist and goal which show up on Wikipedia. Roo doesn't even watch our games anymore, just refreshes our Wikipedia page to get the latest goal + assist stats.
I guess everyone but Dawson played **** yesterday, considering he was the only goal scorer. What I'm trying to say is, **** off Roo. You seem to be incapable of looking at performance over statistics, a trait which is mainly associated with plastics.
To be fair he does live near Bairnsdale, Moe in Gippsland. It would be hard to find a Pub stream at 4am , in the sticks. Unlike yourself of course, Who is regularly seen in Pitt St at 4am in a City shirt.
That was the difference last night... He actually held the ball up just as well if not better that N'Doye...not seen him do that ever!
*George Street, but point stands, Mr Stalker . He could have streamed it on a computer fairly easily. If he doesn't know how I'd be happy to explain it for him.
