Passing isn't the problem, its the moving off the ball that is rubbish, when Huddlestone picks up the ball, players should be running and getting into space, unfortunately I could only see Elmo making the runs, this changed when Aluko came on and we looked more dangerous! Livemore & Meyler in particular don't make runs they just stand in the same position! I think Brady was struggling to get past their full back also!
Agree and another point is when N'Doye received the cross from which he scored I think it was the first cross of the game that he or Jelly had received while facing the goal and not with there back to it(from open play), we don't seem to put many cross's in these days from the bye line.
I do think we tried more crosses than the one for the goal but non of them were any good! I may be wrong but I think Aluko crossed the ball onto hernandez head which then set up N'doye, only for green to save it. I'm not sure what phelan has brought, he has defiantly stopped indivdual errors which for me this season has been down to Davies & Robertson which then makes McGregor make errors. I just feel now Phelan needs to work on crossing and off the ball movement. on a positive note, I think we have a great manager, a great coach great players and a great chairman. I believe our fans are some of the best in the league also (despite the anti allam nonsense) just need crosses and off the ball movement working on!
Great article on N'Doye's route to City... http://sport360.com/article/europea...ame-n’doyes-remarkable-journey-premier-league
I have a feeling this is one player whose promo videos don't lie. He's got it all. Takes a mean free kick too judging by the Copenhagen video. He's brilliant in the air and strong and durable. He and Jelavic are going to prove hard to handle. Just hope they stay healthy. Another Bruce coup!!
Cheers Lambo. He certainly does look like a natural born predatory goal scorer, even the likes of Roo must be impressed! Those free kicks are very reminiscent of the ones scored by Yaya Toure, maybe we should give him a go at the next dead ball situation 30 yards from goal, what have we got to lose, non of the usual suspects seem to do very well with them.
I thought before the last game he was our best finisher. Jelavic may cover more ground but N'Doye has a more subtle touch. The worry I still have is that in most games we will not get that many chances (partly because of a lack of an attacking midfield) and when that rare golden chance comes along our strikers have to take it without having to wait for another that might not come.
When was the last time we, as a team, missed three sitters, a couple of other decent chances yet still scored twice? N'Doye managed that on his own, the useless cheating ****.
For me Tom Huddlestone played higher up the pitch on Saturday and was trying to make things happen, rather than simply trying to stop the opposition playing, it made a big difference as we had through balls being played from the centre of the pitch rather than just relying on crosses, Ramirez added to it when he came on too. I'm hoping that someone, possibly Phelan, has had a word with Hudd with regard to him playing higher up the pitch as he is totally wasted, in an attacking sense, playing as a sweeper.
What Brady says about N'Doye: "He's been fantastic. He's got that experience, he can hold the ball up, bring people in play and he's banging the goals in. That's all you can ask for from a striker." How I interpreted it: "He's been fantastic, unlike Hernandez. He's got that experience unlike Hernandez, he can hold the ball up unlike Hernandez, bring people in play unlike Hernandez and he's banging the goals in, unlike Hernandez. That's all you can ask for from a striker." Am I being too harsh on Abel? http://m.hulldailymail.co.uk/Robbie...-City-safety/story-26397057-detail/story.html
Hernandez is a bit more deserving of your rants about goalscoring strikers as he doesn't bring anything to the team when he doesn't score
More and more people are seeing the light! Whereas I don't think there will be any additions should we be relegated I can see that there will be some off-loading either way but should we manage to survive then those offloaded will be replaced by (among others) a reliable back-up striker (or two). We haven't seen a lot of Diame and nothing at all of Snodgrass and Ince could come back along with Maguire. We will, I feel, need another Goalkeeper.
Why not just pretend that N'Doye cost £10m and Abel £2,5 (which is what N'Doye cost isn't it?) Derby will make an offer for Ince if they win the play-offs.. Snodgrass will be either like a new player of will need time and/or have lost it Diamé will be fine, with rest you overcome tendonitis (I've done it in both knees)
He looked good in the same way that Jelavic appears to look good. Made some excellent chances for himself (that header that he had no right to win springs to mind) but he looks lumbering and untidy. It's a good job that his team mates laid two sitters up for him because there's no way you'd have been singing his praises if you'd drawn/lost that game.
Absolute ****ing steaming pile of bullshit. He's anything but untidy - and most of us have been singing his praises ever since he joined (with the exception of one game when he decided to behave like a three-year-old girl whose dolly had been confiscated). This is what comes of trying to assess a player based on 5 minutes of highlights.
