I went to that game and I do think if Vorm played we wouldn't have won, however you could say the same bout ruddy. It really wasn't a great display of goalkeeping. Vorm and ruddy play I reckon we could have edged it 1-0 but it would have been a far different game.

I've said it before, but these next four games which take us up to the halfway point are crucial to our season. After them we will have played everyone once. I really hope things look clear after that.

Dream scenario: 7-9 points, taking us up to 24-26 for the first half of the season. The critics of Hughton like me would have to shut up for the time being. We still might have our doubts but we couldn't seriously argue with a points total that is heading towards 50 over the season. The club all pull together in the short term and we can develop quietly and safely in mid-table during the rest of 2013/2014.

Nightmare scenario: Draw three games against the bottom teams with poor performances, then get thumped by MU. The splits in the club get worse because everyone has a valid argument. The CH-inners could point to 20 points from 19 games, which is on target for safety, plus we wouldn't be in the bottom three, plus we haven't lost to any of our relegation rivals, plus we've had a pretty horrendous injury list. All perfectly good arguments in their way. But the CH-outers could say we were only one game from the bottom three, that we have a squad that is seriously under-performing, and that CH is taking us down with his tendency to play for draws in the important games. Also good arguments in their way. A total lack of clarity and unity at the club and no one really knows what would be best for the future.

Zero points would at least be clear. He goes.

The Swansea game worries me if Michu comes back. He will be very keen to make up for lost time. If he doesn't, I think we have a good opportunity to put some more daylight between ourselves and the bottom three. And, although a small minority of people (not on here) accuse CH-outers of wanting to lose games, believe me, I don't. Three wins out of the next four and I will be on cloud nine because that would actually put us ahead of our points total last year and probably only 12 points from safety with a whole half-season to go.

I am not sure how much the Swans fans on Not 606 are looking forward to this one. As of 9am on Saturday morning (UK time), they have not got in thread for the game in place (which is unusual) and almost none of them venturing over here to say hello!

My guess is most are nervous about this game, perhaps with good reason.

Well...yes...their constant in-fighting and fighting with their neighbours certainly has not helped. Makes you wonder, as we never get any problems 'cross-boarding' with them.

The strange thing is, even the trouble makers that have been banned were never a problem on here!

ooh look, one dips his toe in the water <laugh> Good to see you PGF <ok>

I have got us down for a 2-0 win, no reason other than that is what I think/hope will happen. No idea why we have become a bogie side for you (and West Brom) but not complaining

It'll be a tight game for sure, but difficult to predict. I think it'll be 2-1 to City or 2-2 again.

Swansea haven't beaten us in the Premier League yet, which makes me think they are due one lol.

I like Swansea but I'm hoping they'll still be tired and not really up for this game, think 3 - 1 to us.

Absolutely spot on VC and I think you’ve covered all scenarios in your post. My hope is for somewhere close to 25 points by the time we get to the end of this month, which as long as we don’t capitulate/give away soft goals, is definitely achievable. Much below that and I could swing from a ‘CH-Inner’ to a ‘CH-Outer’, but I still feel there isn’t a worthwhile replacement, unless of course DM has someone already in mind – time will tell.

Got to be a good time to plays the swans. Three matches in seven days for them and just back from Europe as well plus both top strikers not fully fit. Hopefully we will have a high tempo start and blow them away. I feel that the recent holy trinity of hooper Redmond and fer will grab a couple between them. Would love to see the wolf come on for the last 15 and knock in our fourth but I think that may be hoping for too much.

With Hull and Stoke drawing, City could move into 11th place with a win, 10th if Villa get nothing tomorrow. There's a feeling about the team at the moment. OTBC!

Sorry Robbie, I'm gonna disagree with you for a change. Lawro's a Clown, it's punditry by numbers. They are not a promoted side, or even now a recently promoted side with a new manager so there are others to baselessly suggest are relegation foder with little research!

Bah!

P.s. Of course my opinions are well researched and in no way baseless!

Saw Michu today in their practice match and he did look handy must admit. Movement off the ball was as good as RVW's easily. They were having a damn good laugh and it was nice too see. I watched them play cross bar challenge from the edge of the penalty area, one of the players, think routledge hit the bar 3 times in a row!

Looking forward to tomorrow, I think the Europa league has badly effected the Swans in the league and I think once they are out of it their league position will improve.

Can't be punditry by numbers -- it's well-known that Lawro can't count. Also he has predicted 2:0 to Spurs tomorrow which, coming from such a Red's legend, must mean he's got the 2 and the 0 mixed up. <ok>

Wow I'd forgotten how sketchy Lee Camp looked, very glad Ruddy will be in net tomorrow.
Also Hooper would have buried that chance Kei dithered over.

How good was Bennett that day? He tore Davies apart.

I know he gets a lot of stick for being a vanilla winger without anything standout, but that day he really did have a good game.
