I'd take those McNally "attacking football" quotes with a pinch of salt. I still think it'll be Mackay.
Unfortunately, the chances of any of these names coming to a championship side are probably pretty slim. Malky, Zola and Garcia are probably more what we're capable of attracting.
The post is that of a 'Technical Director' and will be responsible for all aspects of the team other than 'managing the 1st team' to quote DM from yesterday's phone in. Phone in Key points: ⢠Delia Smith admits board considered changing manager in January but âgot it wrongâ ⢠Board intend for Neil Adams to work with new manager, although he remains in the running for the job ⢠Technical director will be appointed to ease demand on first-team manager ⢠Director of football role is not being considered ⢠David McNallyâs role as chief executive is not under threat Full article here - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...days_but_refuse_to_reveal_shortlist_1_3605646
"Sport science, sports analysis, medicine, nutrition, hydration, rest and relax, conditioning, the management of injuries, the training ground, operations, the infrastructure and everything else will now be the domain of the technical director."
Quite a lot then. Surely someone is already responsible for all that or is that McNally's point that a lot falls on his shoulders or the manager's shoulders at the moment?
You would have thought so. Most of that could surely be handled by the medical team and a sports analyst. I took that quote from a BBC sport article posted yesterday
I imagine that all of that was overseen by Hughton, though he obviously would not have actually been drawing up the nutrition plans, for example, but he would have been making the final decisions. Presumably that would be taken out of the manager's hands and he would be told who was fit and to what level, but then he would get on and focus on training/matches. The key thing is that transfers remain in the manager's hands
Good point. Were we to appoint him I suspect our away strip would return to a black-shirt very quickly.
