I first posted it on the Summer Transfer thread, then Suffolk (Ithink) posted it elsewhere then JM Fan posted it too!
Even if he wanted to stay, we wouldn't stump up enough money to buy him. Another loan deal...Maybe, but unlikely.
You really haven't read the report have you? SW is saying 4M euros but would have to lose that elsewhere, he's still under contract to us and we have the option to buy
Join a low Premier team and spend the season fighting relegation, or join us, who he is willing to join, and, hopefully, spend a season challenging for promotion. Hmmm, tough decision. I know we probably do not have a lot of cash that we are willing to splash, but I would certainly like some of it spent on him. I imagine he is a great character in the dressing room, always a great asset, and he is still young enough that he can develop his game even further under the right coaching.
LB has to be one of our major priorities and Dijks is a good fit and wouldn't need adjustment time to settle in. I'd guess his wages are reasonable and a deal could be done. Along with Klose, a big test for SW.
I have £23.76 in my Post Office Savings account that I am prepared to donate to the club to get a deal over the line. I know, I can't help it if I am rich.
Surely you'd want a seat on the board for that sort of investment? Then KIO could call you a greedy, useless fecker!
Just to confirm this season wasn't all complete pants, here's a video proving that over the duration, we had 1m 34 seconds worth of class in us!! (Must do better next term )
I don't think he ever actually explained why. Preferred Naismith but as they cost ostensibly the same amount, why?
Some very sound words from AI in this article - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...llish-over-norwich-city-s-prospects-1-5013247 As he says about the new head coach - "I have no idea who the head coach will be or where he will come from. If he doesn’t know the Championship already how quickly can he do that to make the right decisions in terms of who to bring in?" I don't think Wagner at Huddersfield knew much about the Championship .........
And more wise words from MB - "Wes Hoolahan won’t be going anywhere. Surely. The City legend’s last contracted season is also his testimonial and while he won’t start as often, he will have a role to play. The reason we won’t see as much of him is City’s new head coach should build his side around Alex Pritchard. The 24-year-old has three more seasons on his current deal – and is arguably City’s most valuable asset. His stay may well rest entirely on whether Steven Naismith has potential suitors, while in reality the second of James Maddison’s three contracted seasons may need to be on loan at another Championship club. It’s hard to see how City avoid a choice between cashing in on Pritchard, Naismith or Maddison, given the work they need to complete elsewhere." Full article here - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...p-and-how-the-ship-out-the-unwanted-1-5016190 Certainly interesting times ahead. Edit - Yet another 'End of Term Report, from Andy Head - read it here - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...he-head-teachers-report-on-the-class-of-2017/ It's VERY good!!
The Howson bit I found amusing: Howson, J B+ Howson has maintained a good standard for much of the year and produced one or two highlights that will be long remembered in school history. Whilst he shares some culpability in terms of our collective inability to shield those boys struggling in the back of the class, he is also instrumental in our successes too. A key pupil for next year. Bit of a rip off of our very own General's verdict on this thread from ages ago - #10
