I am no expert but I reckon I have seen more bloody cabbage whites this weekend than I did all of last year. Like a snow storm down the allotment (bit of an exaggeration). Is this some kind of bumper cabbage white year something?

Nasty little buggers mind. Pretty little sods, but lay eggs in the cabbage and it is no more cabbage.

Not sure if it’s just me but I’ve seen far fewer poppies out down here this year

I was over the moon today when 'Tommy' the robin called in the garden today. We used to see him every day until we got the back fence replaced six months ago, but this is the first time since. Not ashamed to say I was a bit emotional.
Our nest box was visited by a couple of Great Tits but one was slightly overweight so they didn't stay... we were gutted. Had them nesting last year, and Blue Tits the year before

We went for a walk round Dalby Forest yesterday - lovely under the trees then scorching out in the open on the return leg. Saw a small yellow bird and 'goldfinch' was the first name that sprang to mind. I think it was all yellow rather than having little bits of other colour.

We have one resident hare in the field infront of our caravan. Two weeks ago there was three hares and one was chasing crows away. After a short time a crow flew off with a young hare in its talons. Nature can be cruel.
