Is it not true though that you are basically mirroring the same as Islamic state beliefs, strange how you never denied any of that from my recent posts, because I'm failing to see the difference in denouncing Nationalism, so we have the EU followers and the Islamic state fighting towards a common goal, and yet you tell me you do not get wars without Nationalism, tell you what, you will probably eventually see the mother of all wars if we went your route. Be careful what you wish for, how does the EU think it will avert wars, through strength and unity, well it has never worked for the US, they've been involved in more ****ed up wars than most, also they thought they were beyond the reach of terrorism, 9/11 - Boston, but I'm sure you don't need me to give you the history lessons, where there is power, there is war.

English Heritage got all politically correct a few years ago and appointed a lady of ethnicity and when interviewed she reckoned EH should be putting plaques up on all its buildings to say it was only possible for them to exist because of the profits White English people made out of black slavery.
Not sure what her point was other than stating the bleeding obvious. I don't see many of our colonial cousins when I take in the delights of our rich and illustrious history. If all those big mansions were "built on the back of slaves" you'd think more of them would show up to see where their money went.

I don't think Toby is Tina but I have had my suspicions that Tina may well be Toby.
In Dostoevsky's masterpiece "The Gambler", an idealistic but spiritually confused young Russian finds hilself in a 19th Century German resort, surrounded by morally corrupt Frenchmen, greedy beligerent Germans, and a grotesque carnival of posturing Russian phonies.
He also makes the aquaintance of the mysterious Mr Astley, a quiet and self effacing Englishman with a dignified bearing and upstanding character. During a convesation at the end of the story, the Englishman, who is ostensibly the one trustworthy character in the novella, lets slip that all his family's wealth comes from sugar. In other words, even the decent and admirable English got rich off the back of the slave trade.
If you want to see a living example of England's historic connection with the slave trade, & you like industrial architecture, have a gander at the magnificent Tate & Lyle building at Silvertown near City Aeroport - before it gets pulled down.
