Whatever is said and done, there is no way on the ****ing earth Rafa Benitez - in May - was told his budget would be MINUS £20m. Just register that for a minute. Forget all the missing TV money, all the lies, deceit and bullshit that comes with the Ashley territory. There is no way Rafa is told, in May, your budget is -£20m and he doesn't simply stand up and walk out. The worst thing here is we know there's lies, we can see there's lies, but that fat ****ing waste of ****ing oxygen has effectively lied right in Rafael Benitez's face. Forget anything else and think about how disgusting that is.
Rafa has replaced players he was never going to play, with equally as good players (at least) that he actually trusts and wants. The job done in this window is a miracle. Absolute disgrace that we didn't spend the money we have, or we could have been onto something really great.
Agreed, don't think ANY club in the EPL should be making a profit on transfers unless your a "smaller" team selling a gem of a player like Marhez was this summer and even then you'd expect it to be reinvested over time.
Well, I only hope to Christ that the one, feasible reason for this absolute ****show of a window is he's determined to sell up. There's absolutely no other reason not to even break even. They've essentially banked £100m this year. It's absolutely beyond any comprehension - unless he pays himself off and gets the **** away.
Problem is that +£20m could actually be break even after subsidising deals out, signing on fees and agents bungs. And yes even break even is shoddy business.
So Fulham have actually spent about £200m? Find that hard to believe. Please don't make excuses for them, mate. Let's try and find the answer somewhere instead. Weird window. We're slightly better off and the last few months proved it's not a bad side, it everyone is fit. Spurs/Burnley signed nobody, Fulham have essentially signed like they're collecting stickers. Hudds, Brighton, Cardiff, Southampton haven't exactly set the World alight, Everton failed to address their defensive issue (Mina is turd). I think it'll be another season very tight, with a couple falling away early(ish). If Ashley sells and we start again with this group of players and Rafa, it could turn a lot brighter very quickly.
Rafa couldn't sign top players even if the money was available since Ashley clearly hasn't moved his rules on purchases having to be under 8 figures and wages having to be £60k/week or under (probably a lot less).
Benitez & the fans where told by Ashley on TV that "Rafa can have every penny the club generates". Mike Ashley is a scumbag liar and I want the fat c*nt to die of a heart-attack, preferably today
I hope the reason for this chronic lack of ambition this window, is that the FCB is preparing to cash in and fook right off. Sadly l still suspect that he is merely being a fat vindictive mardy arse because Rafa won’t back down and sign his contract. Ashley is a spoilt brat who has to win or he takes the ball home, that’s my take on this embarrassing ****show.
He's completely ruined supporting NUFC for us all and to rub salt in the wound I can't even enjoy watching Barcelona these days without being reminded of him...
Still haven't managed to find time to get the LB or AM rafa asked for two years ago though. Honestly dissapointed when im looking at other team's business. Irrelevant if it improves the team moderately, everybody else is turning theirs 'uber'
Minus £20m 'spent'. Christ even the resident Mike Ashley fanboy WUM thought we'd spend £30m net. Utter disgrace.
Only other team to have minus was ****ing Watford. They sold Richarlison and still came second to us.
Has anyone read the article on sky sports where Merson grades the transfer business of each club! Merse has been on the bottle again, he still thinks Wenger is in charge.......
The player trading has been pretty good considering there was nothing (minus £20m) to spend. It's just that the budget is an F-.
Think Rondon is a great signing for you guys, similar but more experienced than Mitrovic who Rafa clearly didn’t want. Other than that, yeah could be a struggle lads. Rafa is a top manager and will keep you competitive but after what happened with him at us when we had the two cowboys in charge it would surprise me if he didn’t walk at some point this season, possibly January if not given any funds. Hes too too good a manager to be scratching around lower half of the league where I think you guys will be this year, especially when you see how all those around you have strengthened. Huddersfield, Cardiff, Bournemouth and yourselves would be my relegation fight clubs.
