Food's good in there, but there's never anyone in, the atmosphere's dead, at least Voujon's busy.

Over the weekend, I stayed in Headingley for an annual get together with lads I lived with in Uni days. Went to a restaurant called The Cats Pyjamas. Restaurant specialising in Indian street food. Also sells craft ales. I chose Achari Paneer Pakora. Fantastic!

You lot made me desperate for a curry. Trying Maharajah on Holderness Road tonight. Takeaway. I'm sure someone on here was saying his good it was a while back.

Lamb Balti, Pilau Rice, Garlic Naan, since you asked.

Local Indian does a naan stuffed with keema and naga and topped with cheese garlic coriander and pieces of chicken tikka. It costs a bomb and causes a bomb but it's ****ing d-lish.

I like the sweet curry dip from McDonalds. Does that count?

I'm currently in Berlin so am trying various versions of currywurst and chips, washed down with litres of beer. Marvellous.

I can't think of anything nicer than currywurst and chips after a sesh on the Erdinger Hefe - if you haven't tried it yet, and if you like wheat beers, you gotta give it a go <ok>

That's a bummer mate, I'd be gutted having to scrub wheat ales off my list of favourite tipples. Slightly different, there are certain bottled beers that I've become allergic to as I've gotten older, they set me off sneezing and make my eyes and nose run - I didn't realise until I looked into it that lots of us do become allergic to things as we age.

Yes, cheap red wine sets me off sneezing as of late. I just have to dig a bit deeper...

Not sure if it's age or the chemicals they put in the drinks. My bro-in-law twice removed (?) is involved with natural wine production in France. It tastes good, has adequate alcohol content and no side-effects.

You're correct, according to my Doc it's a combination of both; our bodies become less tolerant to certain chemicals with age - in my mid 50's I developed a very mild case of asthma, allegedly caused by another allergy, the beer, red wine and and anything containing a certain sulphite sets me off sneezing and other cold symptoms. Luckily, real beer, malt whiskey, gin, rum etc give me no problems.*

*Unless imbibed in really silly quantities <double>

Used to drink a bottle of red every night, but it started to go straight through me. Strange that it was only red wine that did this. White wine, beer, whiskey, any other alcohol and Id be fine.

Good thing is, if I get an upset tummy, bottle of red and it flushes me right out.

A few months back I was trying the guest ales in the wethers and one, can't remember it's name, was weird. Some sort of red bitter, dunno what was in it but It literally made me feel, sick. Couldn't drink it at all. Made my mouth water just like before you chuck up.
Luckily there were plenty of others that I was on good terms with.

You might be right. I rarely buy a bottle of whiskey coz it's gone in two nights.
