Letting dyer go out on loan was a brain fart right from the get go.For me ,having Barrow around and loaning Dyer out reeks of stupidity , just my opinion
There are far to many sentimental fans in Swansea and they can only see players that have been rightly dropped down the pecking order or sent out on loan in their past form, they don't see that we have moved on and have younger players now who do the job better than past players were producing....They are stuck in a time warp of only seeing when they were producing the goods over a year ago and were dropped for playing poor that we had to go into the transfer market to find better players........Dyer has played his part over the years but now we have new players who's form has been better and that goes for Leon and Rangel also. Dyer has been moved on and never to play for us again and i hope he can do something for his new team that gets him regular football but for us we don't need him now....
Monk has had it in for Dyer since he took over, much like Britton imo. After our brilliant start last season , a start which had Dyer scoring three goals early if I'm not mistaken , Dyer pretty well road the bench.Partly due to injury , partly due to not being chosen and now loaned out.It was a mistake imo ,
Dyer clearly rated his abilities above the pecking order he has found himself in recently under Monk, and I have to agree with him, let's hope he comes back to us fitter and point made and duly noted by our coaching staff, crazy to have let him go, or even to have dropped him down the pecking order. Leicester are happy though at our expense.............
Dyer has had ample opportunity to play himself back in as a regular starter for us but for me and more importantly the manger he hasn't taken those chances , even against York in the CoC he couldn't beat a division 2 player effectively .I think his moving to Leicester says more about Dyer than the Club imo. Can any one honestly remember his last decent performance for us ?
This ^^^^^ "Ample opportunity" - Spot on! Last decent performance? About 13 months ago. Since then he couldn't beat an egg. Saying Monk had it in for him is way way off the mark. My heart used to sink seeing the guy come on towards the end. Monk gave Dyer lots of chances when other managers wouldn't have had him in the squad let alone on the bench. For once, Dai is correct.
lLike Britton , you have to play to put in a descent performance.Id like to see how many "Starts " either Britton or Dyer has had since Monk took over
Agreed. You don't become surplus to requirements if you take our chances and play well. It's tough, but so true.
Most wingers in the league would have trouble knocking Ayew and Montero from their positions , that wasn't the case last season and the one before. I look at Barrow and Dyer and I know whom I'd send out on loan.just an opinion but one I truly believe.
Concentrating on Dyer 2013-14 from Monks 1st game v cardiff he started 7 games , came on as sub for 3 games and not selected for one (previously under laudrup he wasn't picked for 6 consecutive games ) 2014-15 season he had 5 full 90 minute games, 15 games until he was subbed around the 3/4 mark .5 games where he wasn't selected. one game when he was on the bench and didn't get on the pitch and 5 games where he came on to see the game out or replace an injured player , Plenty of time to put in a half decent performance imo
Got to tell you Matt , I'm shocked by those figures.Thought it was a lot less . I wonder how those figures compare to Routledge and Montero , including goals scored .This season , unless there is injury , I wouldn't have started Dyer or Routledge a single game , but Super subbing is another story. Montero , Ayew , Rouledge and Dyer would have been on my rooster . With , I think , 4 sub appearances for Dyer at Leicester , a goal and 2 assists looks pretty good and I guess the proof is in the Leicester pie, who I might add , sit well above us
Go back and read some of the posts when dyer was playing regular because we had nobody else and everyone on here was calling for his head as he was useless, He would have one good game and 5 rubbish games and fans were crying out for monk to replace him and even get rid. Playing one game reasonable is useless to us if he plays rubbish for the next 4......once we recruited players it was obvious that Dyer had become a bit part player and that was the correct decision to make. Most of our players who have done great and are seen as legends need to move on now as we cant afford to stand still if we want to remain in the premiership for the future to come and even though it will be sad to see some of our legends dropped when we recruit younger players that is what we must do to keep where we are. We have had the best out of some of the long term players but even they wont produce what we need now and it shows, It's not their or the clubs fault its just time to replace certain players for the club to survive.....
