Not if he comes to United he won't. Plus, all the other **** that goes with him and his past at Arsenal goes with it. He'll have to grown a pair of bollocks, tackle, expect to be tackled, defend and have a sensible haircut instead of ****ing beads or yellow dye.

one thing we needed to improve last year was not nessecerily our midfield creativity but our goalscoring from midfield. last season this was something nasri added to his game, it remians to be seen whether he can do it next season aswell.
personally i'd go for other targets but if we could get nasri he would be an excellent addition to the team

But he has aimed high for each of the last six years which, imo, is one of the reasons you've been so underwhelming. Surely Arsenal fans would prefer a solid 3rd place finish and an FA Cup win rather than the hope of winning the quad followed by a dismal collapse like happened this season?

If we get Nasri I think it will either be in recognition that Sneijder and Modric won't be joining and we will play him as a CAM like he played for Marseille and for France. Alternatively, Nasri and Young will be used with Valencia and Nani in various combinations in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation to try and make us more solid and competitive through the centre in Europe. After all, for all the banter about Arsenal being lucky and having no shots on target in the CL vs Barca, that formation did help you run them closer than anyone else over two legs this season.

I don't get that logic that if you aim lower you are likely to do better. I think we should take all cups seriously.

It saves you from overreaching. For example Spurs last season performed worse in the league cos they were also focused on the CL. Or Utd last season rested players for the FA Cup semi final vs City cos they were trying to win the CL as well, and ended up winning neither. It's not about aiming lower, but about recognising that you don't have the quality and consistency needed to win the PL and CL, and thus you should focus your efforts on the trophies you have a greater chance of winning.

One would hope so. If not we can always sing "Sack up Sammy, Snoods are for girls"

But then Arsenal and Tevez will get cold, and we can't have that.

Either way, I don't really want Nasri. I think we need more of a holding midfielder who can do the job Carrick was doing at the end of the season, just better and more consistent. Then hopefully Ando can get some playing time. I think he has what it takes to make it at United.

Agree with this. Imho we need 2 midfielders and not just the one creative one people bash on about. A tough tackling holding midfield player who can pass a fair bit aswell, maybe score a few too. This, and of course the playmaker.

I think the holding midfielder should be the priority, with Rooney dropping deep, and Nani cutting in there we have creativity in the team. Someone who can break up opponents attacks and quickly start ours from the middle of the park. As far as goals from the midfield, I think someone with just a goal threat would work. I live outside of Los Angeles and have season tickets to the LA Galaxy. We have a Brazilian midfielder Juninho who hits screamers quite often. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oigj5_63CkU&feature=related That was his last one, every time opponents give him any space outside the 18 he shoots, and scores a fair bit too. The only person on our team this season that really provided that threat was Nani. That extra threat 20-30 yards out will help spread out the defense and give us more options IMO.

You make some really excellent points.

But, in all honesty, with the Gooners about to lose Fab, Nasri, Clichy, Arshavin, Denilson, Bendtner, and now Robin van Persie, I think any talk of the Goons winning anything is a little unrealistic. Fighting to stay in the top 7 would be a more fruitful debate, I feel.

That's not me wumming, that's me speaking as a concerned neutral.

It was always going to be more difficult for spurs this year though with City's spending in the summer. And I think everyone has to prioritise the champions league over the fa cup, the fans would not want it any other way. Last year we went for everything and although we won nothing the embarrassing loss in the CC final was still as close as we have got to a trophy since 2008.

Hey! Don't shoot the messenger with all this stuff! I'm not the one making it all up. Blame the press for that!
