Surely if Samir Nasri had wanted to stay, he would have agreed a deal to stay, the longer this situation gose on the more likely is that he will go. The board now has only 2 choices. 1st to sell Samir Nasri now and collect inthe region of £20m or way till nearer the end of August then maybe only get about £15m as each day gose by the amount of money you can get for him will drop. 2nd is to hope he'll sign a new deal and if he dosen't then watch him sign a pre-contract agreement in Jan 2012 and watch him walk away on June 1st for nothing. the other option is to then sell him for what ever aclub is willing to pay but you know that could be as low as £5m or even lower.
No, it's just that some of us don't believe what the media spoon feed us, and choose to believe only the facts as we hear them. Weren't Barca meant to have 'an agreement' with Arsenal/Cesc last year after the papers tried their best to sell him for us? So why hasn't that been honoured? Could it be..it wasn't true? What happened to the reports a few weeks back saying Nasri was definitely going and a deal for Cesc was being done? Still hasn't happened has it? These papers rely on people with very short / selective memories.. and i'm not one of them.
We're not 'greedy', Cesc is under contract and believe it or not that actually means we don't have to sell him and can name our price! If someone wants to pay it then that's what he's 'worth'. WHo says Sneijder is worth £35m..based on what- Rio Ferdinand's fee? Torres £50m? All inflated thanks to mega-rich clubs I'm afraid.
