The simple fact is that we have a lot of injury prone players particularly in midfield. One of the biggest underrated qualities about Wijnaldum is that he seemed to rarely miss a match. We've never really replaced that kind of reliability.

Can’t believe I am the one about to stay this

I put us down for a fifth place finish and I reckon that is still on

    we have to trust Klopp
Clearly he felt that we could ride this out

the guy built our side and has indicated a reinvention is needed
This will be a tough season but we have not just gone poor over night
We have been struggling along for a while but results were going our way
Now they are not I am certain Klopp will be able to fix it

Getting rid of Gini without a reliable option to replace him is one of the biggest mistakes the club have made recently.

What he lacked on the ball, he made up for in defensive solidity and durability. Thiago provides us with that defensive stability with added quality on the ball but not the durability.

The LCM + Fabinho is pivotal to this team and right now, only works with Thiago or Naby alongside Fab. Else the entire midfield is a complete mess.

I can't really recall any time keita played like that. In past 2 seasons. I can recall him playing higher up and central using his intercept ability but not locking down thst left.

He was rotating with Thiago in that LCM role for quite some time. The last time I recall was against Chelsea I think (was it the final) and also against City in the semi? He pocketed the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kante etc - players who have historically had the run of our midfield.

The LCM is not a glamorous role - it requires such tactical discipline, spatial awareness and ability to retain possession under pressure. Gini was a master of it, Thiago takes it to the next level and Naby is very good there as well.

Watch Milner play that role against Napoli and you will see him literally playing in RCM and RB positions! There is no tactical discipline from him or the other midfielders - it really boils down to lack of football IQ.

We didn’t ‘get rid’ of him to be fair. He left on a free transfer after turning down contract extensions.

Agree not replacing him was an issue though with a reliable player. He was a 7/10 every week and what he lacked in goal threat for us (somehow bangs them in for Holland!) he made up for with reliability in performance.

he had his issues though. He would hold onto the ball too long, slow down play at times as well.

So now you've accepted your accusation was wrong and instead of saying fair enough you've changed to a secondary line of nonsense.. Poor form but that doesn't surprise me.

You spend more time on our board than most nufc fans so perhaps you should practice what you preach.

This is down to sports science

Harking back at windy is pointless. He was offered a contract and chose to split. The end

He did **** all where he went and has been turfe don't of there so is now 2 seasons older and regressing as well.

We've not turfed out others as we keep offering smaller contracts and they keep signing them.

Windy could be stinking our midfield.out right now for all we know.

We listen to all those scientist types, then make our minds up but still make do to cover the biggest issue at the time.

We wanted nunez clearly cos we went and got him. So fans need to back the lad and encourage him to stop trying so hard to impress and keep it simple.

What? No idea what you’re talking about.. I haven’t accepted anything and Dno what ‘accusation’ you’re talking about?

I spend time on nufc board cos few over there are a good discussion. Difference is I’m not over there moaning that nufc fans are talking about nufc… on their own board which seems to be your main issue with us? <laugh>

Think it was the right time to let him go, but I'd Thiago was his replacement then that was nuts. We have a first choice 3 man midfield with 30 somethings who have no pace nor, Hendo aside. much stamina. Milner is foe emergencies and early league Cup ties.

Well... when you put it like that.... the first choice 3 have a 32, 28 and 31 year old and the back up are always injured so we'll.. the back up and 31 and 32 year old are already injured so....

Fabinho plus kid and geriatric innit.

You said I'd been saying there's a conspiracy against Newcastle but I of course never says that, so hopefully you can read things better next time.

Obviously you were a tad over sensitive to my piss taking post and fired back a fallacious claim.

I've now advised you exactly what happened.:emoticon-0148-yes:

    Enjoy reinventing yourself biscan

And? That's exactly what happened... Where did I say there's an agenda against newcastle specifically like you claimed? Go on find it fella.. You won't because it doesn't exist.

The point I made was very clear and that is that corruption exists and if you actually read that thread you'd see me telling people it's not an agenda against newcastle.

This post you've foolishly dug out Iused to bolster my argument that corruption exists along with a video because you are seemingly oblivious to it.

    Here you go smart arse....:emoticon-0100-smile

You’ll also note that I said the guy from the Newcastle board where there is a thread… I never actually said you claimed was a conspiracy so I’ll accept your apology on that one.

And your original Comment was about lfc fans wanting their arses licked… I’m not even 100% sure what that meant… but fact you were moaning about lfc fans talking about lfc on the lfc board is what was kind of ironic <whistle>
