You think we were abysmal against Everton ? I disagree, Everton were well organised and gave us a good game. And yes I think we'll approach the game in a much more positive manner against City. Today was poor, but you need to get over it.
I think Real Madrid is the team that worst suits our playstyle this season, so I would like to avoid them at this stage.
Nonsense. You have to look at this game in context. We just could not get our mindset right because of all the different permutations. The City game is more straightforward in that sense.
Well, pretty despondent about the game, more because of the performance (following on from the first half against Everton), rather than the actual result itself. At the end of the day, we're going to have to face the better teams at one stage, so better to do it early on (to see if we actually have a chance at winning this thing), rather than facing some crappy teams, advancing not through merit by luck, and then getting knocked out by the first decent team we face (at the same time drawing attention away from a title challenge etc.) I'm sure a lot of teams would take just qualification in a group with the quality of teams in it (remember, Marseille were the second seed team), so you've always got to look at the other side of things. Hopefully the last two games will be the customary blip in form Arsenal suffer, before bucking their ideas up
Quick reminder, we are FIVE points clear in the PL and have managed to make the last 16 in the toughest CL we have ever had. So, maybe we should just judge this performance and result alone, and not start slagging for the team and completely writing them off for other games and the rest of season.
they called it the group of death . We made it thru it . Clearly thats not enough for some people . What do you fucking want , every game to be a perfect , crushing victory ? I got news for you . It wont be . You do the business and you move on to the next 90 mins. As for the teams that we now may face .... Guess what , if you are successful , you face them sooner or later anyway ... so theres that out of the way . Inflate your gonads , take a breath .... COYG !!!
Arteta sending off, how can Wenger bring Theo on with 10 men? At that point it was only about defending.
In some ways, we got let off the hook tonight. Because if we were going to lose any game, this was one that we could just about to afford to. But it should serve as a massive kick up the arse to prepare properly for every game. We went into this game tonight playing for a draw and it cost us the result but luckily not our place in the KO stages.
The Ramsey sub made no sense for me. Either put Walcott on and go for the kill or put Monreal on first and shore up the defence properly when the game was 0-0. Wenger went for neither and got caught.
**** me ! I hope we get Barca . Why are we in this ? To beat all the easiest teams ? Tell you what , if you want easy , lets just finish 5th like the neighbours . Then we can play tromso young bloods. Get a grip will you doom mongers ! This is what the CL is about.
I thought we needed Ramsey on, we neededenergy in the middle, i thought he would come on for Arteta due to the yellow and Walcott come on for Rosicky. But thenArteta got sent off and idon't think we couldbring Walcott on then, wehad to defend and keep the score asit was.
True, before the group stage draw, I wanted a tough draw so we can see this team tested and see what they are made of, and to be fair they shown us that they are a quality team. To get 12 points from this group was no mean feat, and we did it.
I'd like as many easy teams as possible before we get the big ones, you build momentum in this competition, making it past 16, gives you boost-confidence to the next and on and on, your chances are much better.
But he did not come on for Arteta, he came on for Cazorla and as a wide player, no way he should have come on ahead of either Monreal or Walcott. It was a bizarre sub.
