I think tommy mooney would be a fantastic choice to be honest, follows the club and a hero, plus as his first job in managment he would be cheap, and our answer to the striker problem lol
Leaving aside our former players for the moment I just wonder if Mark Robins might be the man for the job? Certainly within our price range, did well at Rotherham and Barnsley (two clubs with arguably worse troubles than our own), played under the most successful manager in England. Would more likely be prepared to work with the current backroom staff (assuming we can keep them) than some of the others listed, he is hungry to prove himself and knows how to work within a tight, if not impossible, budget. Ticks pretty much all of the boxes for me. Whether he will understand and the "Watford Way" I am happy to let GT be the judge.
Exactly alex and Kenny knows he's loved by us fans to death which is a rare thing for any manager at any club nowadays. I sincerely hope for all Watford fans sake that you don't get long ball Aidy as I wouldn't envy you at all paying good money to watch a season of **** football but for those who have already got their season tickets there's **** all you can do about it and it wouldn't surprise me if your attendances at the Vic drop as nobody wants to see that type of footy.
Paul Dickov are SKY Sports having a laugh. One season as a manager in league one which was poor and he is considered a contender. I wish as a Peterborough fan we had seen the Gary Johnson style of football posters on this topic refer to. He was absolute dire at POSH, totally clueless and has now probably found his level at Northampton
I do wonder why the same old names keep popping up every time there is a job going? Is it based on reason or is it just designed to keep the wolf from the door at the betting office. It seemed very strange that Shearer suddenly became a hot favourite to land the Cardiff job based on some large bets coming out of Eire. Maybe Mr.B should pick an outsider, place a large bet, then appoint him. I have lost count of the managers we have had in my time. Well over twenty without counting those who had more than one go. Still despite everything the club staggers on. I wonder if we will know about a short list or will that be too sensitive?
More likely to be Sean Dyche than some of those names talked about..big and small. I don't think Aidy B would come back TBH.
Dickov isn't even on their betting odds list - maybe that is the reason for the story, draw in a few punters on him.
Just had a look on the Stevenage board - their fans either don't know that Westley is currently favourite or think that he won't leave them after back to back promotions so it's not even worth creating a thread about it.
If you look at how few threads there are on their board, it might simply be a case of none of them can be bothered.
I would think we would be ok with Tisdale, Waddock as a manager I know nothing of seems be well liked at Wycombe! (isnt the new holding company based there?) Westley, Robins have a little experience ,but I think we will end up with SD as long as he doesnt go to cardiff! Hoping theres a clause in the MM contract forbidding him to come for what players we have left!
One name that I have seen that has not been mentioned elsewhere is Tony Coton. Still a big friend of GT I am informed.
....and with Loach apparently keen to move to Ipswich, he could be player manager! Thinking about it, even if Loach stays, signing Coton as player manager would be a good idea
One person is reporting that having been to a number of away games on the train with Mr.B, his companion has been Lawrie Sanchez and there are rumours that Barnet have been approached. Just possible, but this is how rumours begin.
I went to a Barnet game on Easter Monday when Sanchez was a "consultant" to Grazioli. Grazioli had his assistant and was standing at one end of the dugout, Sanchez had his assistant and they were standing at the other end of the dugout. It was like a marriage made in ........ I wasn't impressed and my Barnet mate could not believe it when they survived. Sanchez - no thanks.
