I've e-mail the FA against the name change.

i've also mentioned that their decision will be taken as a land mark ruling and set a precident as to how all other clubs /owners act in future.

IF so why would he not tell the Groups that attended the meeting?

OLM said: there was no big invester in the waiting!

AA said he would do some research (not that he had done that beforehand) and have time to think this name change over!

He has spat his dummy with HCC and the Fans....its as simple as that!

It's a possibility, but the best way to undermine CTWDs campaign would be to say the change was going to bring a benefit that he could identify. At the moment they're picking up neutral and media support because the whole name change idea seems ridiculously pointless in the first place.

    Dear Sir

I have been a supporter of Hull City AFC since 1970 and have seen them play in all 4 Divisions, followed them to Wembley and known both joy and despair along the road. I have been a Season ticket holder when I lived in Hull, but now live further away and, despite sick relatives, still regularly attend home (and some away) games. I have been ridiculed many times for supporting my local team, (I was born and raised a proud Yorkshire man and native of Kingston upon Hull), but never wavered. They are MY team!!

But now the Chairman of my club wants to change the name, based on what seems to me, a whim. I am and always will remain grateful to Mr Allam for his financial input into the football club I love, but his proposed name change, in my opinion, robs the club of its history, heritage and heart just at the time of its greatest success. I am totally, completely and implacably against this name change, which he is attempting to foist on the loyal support in a dictatorial, high handed manner with virtually no consultation and very bad grace. Please reject his application so that we may remain "Hull City til we die"

    Yours sincerely

I mean it is total speculation but he can't really say, oh yes, we have "insert name here" waiting to put a lot of money into the club if we change the name, but SHHHH dont tell the others can he? it will come out eventually. So if that does and up been the case, this way he is taking all the flack for the name change to bring in the money / possibly get his money back, who knows. just a thought.

edit : surely its much easier for one man to deny / crusade than for the CTWD group to suddenly all have to keep quiet, surely if Allam gave a reason, and it was acceptable to the group, then surely more questions would be asked as to why the campaign was slowing down?

    ========

IF it was all about making money he would never have got involved with a. Football club.

Far easier way to make money.

Your just posting a typical hate filled anti Allam rant that puts people off the CTWD campaign....

Fact is we all know a large number of fans will all piss off in a flash
    IF things come crashing down.

Loyal fans......I think we might have 7,000 true loyal fans

The support we attract is more pro Allam than anti-Allam in my experience. They don't agree with what he does. I don't think people should be anti-Allam, just as I don't think some of the abuse on here towards those opposed to the name change is fair. But this is a message board with strong emotions on both sides.

I would ask those on these board who want to personally attack in words Assem Allam to restrain from doing so. I know it may be difficult given what he's doing but please thing twice or three times before posting. It will be appreciated by the campaign.

I think the suggestion is that Allam is changing the name because someone else wants to. Once he's changed it they'll buy him out, he'll take all the flak with him and the new guy will have the club they want with the name they want and no hostility from fans. They can then say they'll look at changing it back, but can't even apply until next season and there's more important things to be dealt with first. It'll then slip down the list of things people want when the new owner is spending £Ms.

The groups that attended the meeting have kept quite? AA has not shut up and continued to call supporters against the name change, Come on AA has not really been honest with the fans, I am here not to get on your back Aquity and say your wrong but i feel if there was investment AA would have said!

This is just a HCC spat that has now got fans involved (in my opinion)

EDIT: had a drink no work till monday now......makes a change

As a City supporter since the 50"s happy for Mr Allam to use his money to get and keep us in the Premier League. So respect his right to change the name to Hull Tigers. Also not too disallusioned with the change, it has a nice ring about it.

One of the first questions I'd ask is how many shirts will we sell. The answer would be I'm not sure. When we had Cash Convertors as sponsor our sales dropped. We have a militant minority of hooligans opposed to the name change that won't buy any shirts so its a bit difficult to tell. I have offered them their money back so hopefully they will be replaced by brand new Hull Tigers fans next season.

Unfortunately I agree.I remember being in Linnet and only 2 of us had city colours on.Biggest games on TV were the big 4.Local lads with their Chelsea and MU tops on.
200-300 for Yorkshire derby at Barnsley.
Love what AA has done for us-it will prob not last forever regardless of who is in charge. How many will be going to Sunderland in Feb?
    Fantastic times

Highpeak Tiger, absolutely spot on. I too live out of town (Derbyshire like you I guess) and have supported since 1953, Dad took me and now I go every week with my son. Soon he will take his son. We are the people the FA should listen too. Tradition & heritage still stand for something in the football community and the FA should support that. My e- mail will say as such.
