They already exist? Didn't think they were starting for a few years. Wish they could open up a team in the SE not in Florida. Currently I'm over 7hrs drive away from closest team (DC). Heard rumours of Charlotte and Atlanta... I could probably make a number of games a year in Charlotte... not too far for me. Only 90 mins drive away.
Orlando City has had a USL team for awhile and next year they officially join MLS. I agree on not having a single team in the SE is crazy. I can see Charlotte or Charleston having a team way before Atlanta. Atlanta is one of those big cities with **** sports teams as most people in Atlanta aren't from there and don't really care ( similar to Florida teams too).
Charleston would be great... same distance for me as Charlotte... but a much more pleasant city to visit. No where near the same size market though. Can't see them going to a city that small.
They already have a stadium they can build on ( Nice stadium as well) and a fan base that is pretty fanatical too.
The battery on Daniel island? I've actually been there... was close to getting a job at a company next door to it. Backed out after learning it was a crap company to work for.
I think so but yes Charleston Battery. They have a pub in the Stadium as well that I think you can watch the game from, just tip up to once the game is over. They do viewing parties and all sorts through that area. There is also a team in Wilmington ( right near da beach) but it is a feeder club for Toronto.
