I think Nagy will probably leave the UK. But Kalas would enhance a lot mid to lower or recently promoted prem teams but again we will IMHO have to swallow a loss.

But if it funds a striker or 2 that will be great.

The good news is alleged target Yates of Blackpool (whom they rate at 5mil and has signed a contract extension) was kept totally under wraps by our defence on Saturday and looked bang average.

Yep, Yates looked no more a £5m player than our own Chris Martin on Sat. Nobody will pay that for him!

Martin played well Saturday and took his goal well (Weimann take not, how to take very similar chances) he lacked support, I think he is better as a number 10 because he does possess that pass in and around the box. He looked fitter and leaner, he needs a partner.

Our best 3 defenders by popular consent are Kalas, Atkinson and Baker.
Anyone think 3-5-2 may play better to our strengths.
I suggest it as Vyner isn't a RB and DaSilva's weakness is defending.

I take your point but Vyner is even worse as a RWB than right back.

All about opinions, Vyner made one mistake all game, ok it ended up costing us 2 points but he played well some of his tackling was superb, DaSilva defended well all game. I suspect the rift between Kalas and Pearson is unsolvable, but I may be wrong.

Better at defending than Hunt will ever be, the attacking side will improve, he is young and athletic.

So Kalas can’t get in our first even, but he’s good enough for lower PL side? , BTW I agree with you I just don’t get how he’s only a bench sitter for us.

Possibly, I hope so, I do like him and if only he could cut out his mistakes.

100% agree. He is casual/naive at times.

There were 2 moments in the first half when he could have done better, one he was following a ball out for a corner that was never going to make it and should have been put into the Dolman for a throw ended up as a corner and later the ball came off of him and bounced up just over the line in the Dolman and instead of heading into the Dolman he left it and ambled back and the throw went over him taking him out of the game.

I liked the crunching tackle made by Palmer in the 2nd half, summed his game up and was MoM for me.. ......probably the best player on the pitch until he came off..

I would go for Scott personally, but Palmer did little wrong and is certainly becoming a more all round midfielder, he has cut out most of the little tricks in dangerous areas but I would like to see some of his invention in and around the opponents box a little more, but overall the midfield looked much better.

A tough call between the 2 of them for MoM. I still think City will get the best of Palmer when we have 2 up top, so maybe Redprintt's call of 3-5-2 would work. The issue is, who would be the RWB, we don't really have anyone who fits that bill for me, in Vyner or Simpson?

Vyner is going to be fine, he has played right back, centre back and midfield not for us but whilst on loan, I suspect Simpson is here for 2 reasons coaching to improve Vyner and as back up.

I think the reason Vyner is playing right back is he is there if we need to go to back 3 at any stage of a game.

    Tbf that's not difficult.
Trouble for me about Vyner is his leaden feet and the difficulty he has turning when taken on. Something far more likely to happen against the better sides.
You are probably right about Pearson and Kalas, but I'll never understand how our best defender imo can't get a starting berth.
Anyone think Weimann could play wide right in a midfield 5 with Vyner sitting in front of the 3 defenders.

Watching my first game of this season gave me a good look at what we have to offer and overall I liked what I saw until the final minute when we let our concentration slip and we got a typical Bristol City result. I was impressed by Atkinson and Scott, especially as the latter is so young and to me really looks the part, and generally I liked our look but losing those 2 points at the buzzer doesn't sit well because lapses at that point of the match are not acceptable. Our next game at Middlesbrough will not be easy and it will be interesting to see how NP sets up his stall for the first away fixture.

It’s seems that way with Kalas and Pearson, I can’t think of any other reason he’s not being played, unless of course it’s Pearson wants rid because his wages are too high and there’s nothing more sinister to it than that.

I’m sure they had a bust up last season-hence the stand off.
