You're going up, you've been top of the league all season for christ's sake how could you **** it it up now?? (although if u did it would be hilarious) Coming straight back down though.
I don't remember feeling that nervous when Pompey were top of the league, all those years ago. I just wanted us to win the league and put Leicester firmly into second place. Maybe these forums bring out the worst of nerves.
Just because we share different views... I was livid yesterday at final whistle. But having calmed down and thought about it they were two good Pompey goals, we had plenty of chances and didn't take them and all of this was proved on the Football League Show We got a point, we're top of the league! Let's be bloody optimistic!!
I'm a pessimist, we definitely need to win at Palace on Monday. If we don't I fear for the worst because I think Reading will do us over at home.
Likewise. We have two tricky away games at Peterborough and Middlesbrough after the Reading game, so really I would like it to be decided before Coventry!
I still am confident Dan. I don't think the three teams we are playing can cope with a performance like last night, errors excluded of course.
they can play some good stuff, but they have been in very poor form for a while now. They are also not a team to try and be physical with us. I think they'll give us more space and time than teams like reading and Pompey.
Form would be a fair enough point if we were on a roll - one win from the last four games doesn't fill me with confidence! Anyone without doubts now needs to share some of their optimism around because I could use some. As well as this Posh shouldn't be underestimated, though if we lose to Coventry at SMS then we don't deserve to go up.
Agree Dan. Have some of my optimism. Last week, I thought we may not get anything from reading (I put 1-1 out of faith), so I immediately looked at the remaining games. Look at posh today; 1 up now 3-1 down. I agree, they are not to be underestimated, but we should be up for it and looking to pressure them. We get a goal and then we'll get some more. Away to Boro will be tough, but they are not a physical side and like to play. I don't think they will particularly press us. Get our heads right and we can win this. A point at worst. Then home to Coventry and as you said, if we lose that or don't win it, we don't deserve it. But, let's start with Posh on Tuesday. A good backing and get behind the boys and we can get the win. Then it could be three points clear with two to play.
I do like this attitude and reasoning... I'll see how I feel after Tuesday but you've brightened my outlook. I'll be coming back to you if we drop into the playoffs!
We're up against three sides that we would tend to do well against to be fair. Teams who will try and play football rather than absorb our attacks and counter like Reading did. We struggle against physical teams, but these are not physical teams.
All that was missing from RLGB was a . I am slightly concerned, but don't give up till it's gone, keep on till the final whistle goes on the 28th. Then see where we are.
I had hoped this thread would have been laughed into obscurity by now by our team's points haul since.... but it hasn't. Luck hasn't been with us for our past two home games, but hopefully it won't matter and we win our next couple of games away! COYS
