Exactly how I see it. I like the name of the reporter hack. He's very popular with the tabloids, so I'm told. ;)

Absolute tosh...why would they sell us for 25 million having just written off 33 million (probably not the right term, but effectively correct) and being possibly on the edge of the big time. How much do you think a PL club (assuming promotion) with a good stadium, training ground and large fan base is worth....100+ million might be nearer the mark.

I may have sounded earlier like I thought they would sell if we get to the premier league. That wasn't what I meant.

I meant if they were going to sell it would be before the PL season because they wouldn't gamble on staying in the prem however they would maintain a small stake just in case we did, then that would be worth more over time.

What I implied was if they were looking to sell at this moment in time the club would not be investing in the academy because for all intents and purposes it was top draw already and a new owner may decide the academy would be better used as a profit maker.

Therefore solely because they have committed a vast amount of money to something that in theory doesn't need to be done they are not looking to sell.

i.e. if you build a £20,000 extension on your house you know it won't add £20,000 to the value of the house. It means you are adding the extension because you are improving YOUR house and that your current intention is to stay there for some time :)

While cortese is in charge I'm not worried if we are sold as crazy as that seems. I doubt the leibhers will sell any time soon theyve got something going very good here and are honouring there late father. Also with the news of the debt being suposedly written off why on earth would they sell up, I think its just people trying to rock the boat. Although its an interesting thought what would you think if we were sold but Nicola stayed on. I personally think the Leibherrs are top draw but new owners may not mean they are any worse although I struggle to see how they could be better.

I'm pleased that over time and actions, the trust of Cortese and the Liebherrs is extremely positive on this forum and amongst saints fans.

Ask me if we're nailed on for promotion this season and I sit very much in the nervous category, but as far as long term stability and ownership under the Liebherr family/cortese is concerned I see a long term and bright future.

Let's not forget that the Liebherr family is not a get rich quick or a modern day story of rags to riches which you might
finds from a dragon or Alan sugar.

Markus was born into wealth and so naturally have his children. His interest was in engineering and he was allowed to pursue that passion and set up several successful businesses over a long period of time. The Liebherr family have never wanted for money and so this is not an overriding motivation to them, but of course they're not a charity case.

The club was bought at a snip at £14 million and after the sale of chamberlain and the possibility of premier league football the total investment of £33 million is an exceptional business success. If promotion is achieved the club could operate successfully without another penny coming from the Liebherr trust.

I suspect the only reason for the club to be sold in the future is if the ambition of cortese outgrows what the family are willing to input
