She thought she was treat badly not getting her pension at 60 . Now it appears she won't get it till 66. When did they sneak that one in
To be fair they are not said they were giving £63m but they gave that before the last time they agreed to school means. And I have just found out this was snuck in before covid started
You are the same age as me . how old is Mrs. Snug and when does she think she will get here pension https://www.bing.com/search?q=When ...5 get their pension&go=Search&qs=ds&form=QBRE
Changed in 2011? Bliddy stinks, women have paid into it for years, then they drastically moved the goalposts.
I understand your pain mate. But honest question why do women get their pension before us men? If it was the other way round it would be sexist. Also statistically women live longer than men so if anything men should get theirs earlier.
Yeah in 2011 my wife was due to get her pension 2017 They then changed it to 2019 However up until 2011 she was paid a woman’s wage and not on equal pay 2011 the government justified them selves and gave her equal pay
We're useless with this kind of thing mate so haven't thought about it until I saw your post. I'm 65 and she's 19 ... ... oops, I meant 60 so could be eligible soon. We're currently having to jump through all the post Brexit hoops which is a real nightmare. The French are asking for resident permits, health care provision, changing our UK licences for French, etc. I might just go back to the UK, it's tedious.
Well you can’t demand equal rights then expect special treatment. Same thing happened to Mrs B and she wasn’t happy about it, but that’s life.
I agree but read my post my wife worked all her life until 2011 when she got equal rights Most people don’t realise that the equal rights agreement was in the early 1970s However some women didn’t get it till 2011 That’s when the government justified raising there retirement age again
Same in Spain Smug, Brexit is a nightmare for expats. I'm dreading next year when Britain pulls up the shutters on Europe, I don't want to go back to Britain but I think I'll have no choice. It's not in the southern European countries best interests to chuck all the Brits out that can't or won't apply for full residency but Brussels will insist that they do IMHO.
In an ideal world, your retirement age should be set the day you start paying National Insurance, never agreed that it should be changed during your working life.
I'm intrigued that you believe your wife was not receiving equal pay up until 2011 when to do so was illegal since 1974. can you shed any light on what happened to her? has she or her union taken any action?
I have a UK reg Transit van that's taxed, tested and insured. If I came in a camper van I could drive it around with no problem. As it now stands I need to register it here, get a French licence, change the headlamps, get a French MOT and register it in France. Well f**k that, I'll either ignore it or go back to the UK.
One of the first things I did when i got to Spain was get my car put onto Spanish plates, that involved putting it through an ITV (mot). Most people don't bother but my car stands out a bit. It's a pretty rare car in Spain and with UK plates it's too noticeable. I was advised to sell it and buy a left hand drive car but I was determined to keep it even though it cost me nearly 1800 euros to register it over here.
First of all welcome How old are you My wife worked since 1970 in mostly retail co op Then after the kids were born Moved into care At no time during her working life was she paid equal to a man Infact before the minimum wage was introduced From circa 1983-95 She earned £1 per hour 0 contracts It did get a little better after 2000 were she was on a contract at a nursing home On minimum, wage which was less than a mail However she did have a union who fought for her and she received Equal pay fro 2011 And got some back money
