Just watched a re-run and at the 4min30sec stage there was nothing shown of a disarrayed midfield. A couple of minutes later one of their players brought down Lens when he was on his way through. Maybe the author saw a different game.

Did you take a closer interest in Yann M'Villa? He rarely gave the ball away. We need to get that podge on the treadmill and get him up to speed quick fast as he's going to be a player we need.

I agree he needs to slim down but he still covered more miles than anyone on the pitch

I took particular note of him and Catts as by my reckoning they alternated between defensive cover and attacking midfield and Castts was further forward in the beginning and sprayed the ball about pretty well at the beginning. Unfortunately it was a long pass of his that was cut out and led to their second goal.

For the future I reckon they could form a good partnership but have to rearrange the full backs timing runs. Creating space for Larsson could be the key rather than those two finding the killer ball.

We haven't had anyone who can retain and distribute like M'Vila since Ki, only M'Vila can defend too. Could be a very special player. He could teach Catts a thing or two. Back to playing 3 CMs hopefully on Saturday, and see how they can both protect us and finally allow the other Midfielder to attack with freedom.
