Don't know if anyone has picked up on this but Johnson seems to always go outside on his right foot these days. I understand last season he always cut back on his left and teams worked him out but he seems to be massively over compensating for this now and he is becoming less effective as normally his right foot crosses just go along the ground. He needs to have variation if he is going to be effective. I thought giaccherini was our best player so was surprised to see him come off. Also Vaughan and larson is far too light weight in the middle. They ran around a lot but were always chasing shadows as they are both too slow. Very worried now as our next home fixtures are hellish. I honestly think we will be bottom 3 come Christmas and in a scrap.

Watched the game minus last 5 mins. on a pretty poor feed. For me Giacherrini was our best player, Fletcher demonstrated what we have been missing, you wouldn't want Ji backing you up in an fight and Celustka was our best defender. Colback put in a good shift in what is not his favoured position, O'Shea is looking his age. Johnson has not, apart from fleetingly, performed for our club the question is how do we motivate him? What can I say about Wickham? nothing positive. Why o why did we sell Mignolet? Has the manager impacted on a tactical front? I've not seen it yet.

Giaccherini looked good some very nice touches and when we have proper cm's to supply him he'll thrive along with Johnson imo.

We got very good money for Mingolet and even though he's class I'm happy with that piece of business

No mention of Diakite. Thought he did OK today and will get better. Was commanding in the air against Chamakh and his distribution was far superior to o'sheas.

I think PDC is out of his depth managing in the Premiership and its quickly beginning to show imo. Knee jerk decisions about players and substitutions; bizarre comments about his players and his blame everyone but himself attitude defeat after defeat. He has already lost 50% of his first 10 games and at least the likes of MON had a decent honeymoon period when he was appointed and he had NO new player s to work with after his first window.

In another 10 games, I will bet any amount of money you all want that there will be a huge groundswell of similar opinion as we a rooted to the bottom 1 or 2 of the league.

If we are bottom 3 after 10 or 12 games, will all the MoN critics come on and give PDC the same stick?

I gave MoN PLNETY of time and I plan on giving Di Canio that and more time.

Why more time? Because it's something new instead of the same old boring MoN style management

To be judging Di Canio after 1 window and hardly any games is just unbelievable

My main problem is that we didn't have any shape and it appeared like no direction.

    I wasn't a MON critic, nor will I be a critic of a guy 3 games into a season.
We played some canny football today we also played some ****e and PDC was right to question the heart of some of the players.

You could see this coming before the season started DiCanio was going to be judged on immediate success FACT at present we have a bunch of very good players that have yet to be melded into a team of good players by Xmas I will have a better idea of where we are going regardless of where we are in the league at that time, When we played Fulham we completely dominated the game and lost Newcastle against the same team were very mediocre and won ( Ben Arfas goal apart)

Hang on, everyone judged mon after 1 summer window?

Double standards that. PDC has had a free hand and brought in 11 new players. Rather than berate the players publicly on tv, he should stand by them and work harder to make them work.

His only answers seem to stem from demanding Short sanction even more new signings. Not sure how long Ellis will be happy with that?

He shouldn't be doing it all so publicaly though mate. Does it not concern you that he will lose his own dressing room very quickly at this rate?

He has brought 11 new players yet the heart of our midfield is piss weak still. Where are HIS players?

Which parts have you have watched in the first 10 games under PDC makes you so cock sure that he is the answer? The standard of play is dire chum and as weak and feckless as ever it was under mon.

not sure if he is sess ,when have i said i was cock sure ? however there seems an undercurrent in your comments already about his appointment, you seem to cry wolf about being a supporter ,wanting your side to do well but you revel in the fact we have lost this game .
Most are willing to give this change a chance , fair shout its not got going yet and we all realise the midfield needs work ,we have no friends it seems in the media at all, yet if we survive this season it will be a success as far as i am concerned.
You have seen enough football to know this is going to be a long haul again, rejoice we are still a prem side after last season ,i cannot see it being any worse that what it was , most want it to be better and most will not keep saying told you so.
a midfield signing will change our game im sure

All good points but you didn't seem to ever want to give MoN that same chance and yet he had 20 years of successful management behind him. There is a lot of double standard concerning PDC and yet after a total free hand over the summer we look as piss poor as ever.

Also, I well remember your revelling in o Neil's failures on a match per match basis.

I had grave reservations about PDC last season but the derby victory gave him an invincible aura by some fans. I just don't see any improvements at all and if it were not for MoN signing in Fletcher, we would be completely ineffective.

    No that's not true

I like most others still supported MoN past January. But having seen him spend £30m (THIRTY!!) over the two windows and still scrapping relationship at the END of the season (not 3 games in) I'd seen enough. It's also worth noting MoN had 3 transfer windows. The new recruitment team has had one

Surely Di Canio should be judged at the back end of this season at the earliest..

I think blaming PDC is a bit harsh and im fully behind what he is trying to do at the club. I do question some of his tactics at times i.e bringing on Wickham against Soton when we are 1-0 up and taking giac off yesterday when (for me) he was our MOTM at that point in time. However, none of us are going to agree with everything any manager does.

I honestly think the signings made are an improvement. I really rate Celutska and think at present time he has been our best signing. Diakete has his moments and looks a little too keen to jump in, but at other times makes some fantastic last minute challenges. Obviously (i sound like PDC) he has had a year out and will improve with more match time. Roberge looked solid when the ball is on the floor but needs work in the air. I thought in the asia cup and against Fulham, Cabral looked excellent and i cant understand why PDC constantly leaves him on the bench. Giacherinni lookes unbelievable and is getting better each game with improved fitness. Finally, Altidore looks like a man mountain and has some fantastic strength and hold-up play and i think Fletcher will flourish alongside him.

Now the main pattern/problem thats occuring is the existing players that were brought in by Bruce are the one's constantly at fault. O'Shea has now cost us point in two consecutive games. The silly foul against Soton and also the penalty yesterday. Yesterday i also saw him blatently push a Palace player which on another day could have got us in a spot of bother. I think his lack of pace and the fact when ever he heads the ball, he has this tendancy to climb all over people and these are really becoming main issues. Larsson, Vaughan, Gards well the less said the better and Wickham and Ji have been a waste of 10 million.

We seriously must have the one of the weakest spines in the premiership. The quicker we can intergrate the newer additions, the better our season will be. The main concern now is how will these new additions (if given the chance) will deal with the up & coming fixture list.

    Apologies for the long post!

No it doesn't concern me, if players are like whining babies if that nasty manager Di Canio shouted at them in public.
They are grown men FFS! Take your bollocking like a man.
If we lose anyone because he got bollocked it will be a good thing as they will have deserved it.

You're wanting your bread buttered both sides with DiCanio brought in 11 players.
Did PDC bring them in or this brilliant DOF you like so much?
If it wasn't the DOF what's the point in having one?
