Watched via stream. Midfield were imperious. Wingers worked and threatened but had no end product. ASM could’ve teed up Wilson for a tap in, should’ve scored an easy chance, Almiron did similar, it’s mind blowing how poor the pair are in critical areas, so frustrating. Wilson looked relatively poor and disinterested. Trippier was really good, other three defenders and keeper had so little to do, but Schar goal and block were both superb. Did notice that Pope has a superb quick throw out. Two or three times he just got us moving. Love that. Basically nothing new. Need a new striker and someone who makes the right decisions from wide attacking areas.

Pope 8 Good at what little he had to do. Trippier 8 Always directing players, linking up well down the right. Targett 7 mostly solid, put under a bit pressure late on. Schar 8 Mostly in command, brilliant block, brilliant goal, couple of slight slip ups. Burn 8 Excellent in defence, not so good with the odd chance up front. Bruno 9 Totally in command running the show. Joelinton 9 Ran, tackled, dominated and grafted throughout covering the middle and defence. Good cross for second goal. Pity about the shot after the great run first half. Willock 9 ran himself into the ground battling for the ball, making good runs and linking up well with midfield and strikers. Miggy 8 Ran and worked all game as usual. Made some excellent runs and linked up well with trippier. Several good crosses not taken advantage of. Could have done better with a couple of chances. Max 8 Caused problems all game, entertaining as ever, stretching forest defence all over, like Miggy several good crosses not taken advantage of. Played a part in second goal. Should have passed to Wilson when played in but how many others would have taken the shot on. Wilson 8. Could have done better a few times but these things happen. Worked a lot harder than many giving him credit for. Scored a good goal and a pass from Max would have given him two yet some are complaining. Subs not really on long enough but thought Murphy was fouled approaching their box which should have been a free kick and possible red card. Sean Longstaff after a poor forward pass just after coming on looked very tidy and commanding helping the defence late on as we sat back and looked a little tired. Nice to see Botman able to come on to get a cheer from the crowd. Their number 19 looks a good defender. Colback worked hard. Overall they were very poor.
It was the best 1st game of the season that I can remember. Everyone played well. Forest were not a great side though and will be lucky to stay up. But overall, yesterday we could have beaten a better side than them.
So, what you're sayong is, after all that worrying, stress and having to dress up as kid in disguise, ToonArmy1892 could have just had your ticket instead because you were wasted in a ditch after a couple of shandies?
