SYD, We have a goal poacher on our books in young Noble, on another thread today its being said by the Journal that MoN will give him a go on Sunday so we will have to wait and see, I personally want our strongest team out at the weekend to ensure our best possible chance to progress into round four.
In my humble opinion we need a CB and a striker possibly looking abroad for the striker or lower leagues to take a chance but no big money buys as we all know you never get either value for money or the person you really want in Jan just ask Liverpool!
They got a bit of value though Derry marra as they flogged Torres for 50 million knicker, so it didn't really cost them that much. Anyway, I know young James is from NI but do you know if he would opt to play for them or the Republic? Not that I give a **** either way mind.
As Charlie said mate he has opted for the Republic, when these decisions are made over here you have to take into account where the lad is from and where his family and mates are from as well, he might of also thought he would have a better chance of tournament football with the Republic which is a bonus. I believe he did play for Northern Ireland at juniour level but could choose who to play for at seniour level which is his right but can be a bit hard on the North as they had put in the time to train/develop him. Did you know that he wasn't the only Derry City player to have been over with Sunderland in the last few years? There was also a lad called McElhinney who was by all accounts a talented lad but was homesick and returned to Derry. I know what you mean about Torres lad but from Chelsea's point of view he wasn't value for money. Now what I do want to see is Liverpool signing Bent for a ridiculous amount of money which I'm sure will benifit us? In all honesty mate if we can hold on to Sess and build around him with a good CB (Samba, QPR's bid £5M?) and a striker we could end up having a decent season, something you couldn't of dreamed of after Brucies start.
think we will be putting in a quote for Ba from our cash strapped cousins up the road, you know lads our feeder club lol
I think we would of known "his type" when it came to loyaly lad. I would be surprised if we didn't have a sell on clause.
