Secondly, I don't think we have seen a more convincing midfield performance than Clayton's one against West Ham (when they had Parker in their midfield you won PFA player of the year in the prem the season before) since the prem days. Clayton was superb for us and only dropped off when Warnock came in because of his anti football where we completely bypass the midfield. Simply put, Clayton is now among the best midfielders in the league (possibly the best) and would walk into our team right this second. Howson is one of Norwich's most important players and having spoken to some of their fans they are worried that they are gonna lose him because of the relegation. He would walk into our team right this second. We are average in every department, we have some good potential within this squad but we do not have the quality right now. An average left back who's somewhat suspect defensively winning player of the season proves this point imo.
An average left back who's attracting the attention of liverpool. He might be average but not for the championship. Agree with you about clayton btw. should never have been sold but thats the great business man bates.
I honestly don't see why Liverpool would be looking at Taylor, he's good going forward and I'm a fan of his but defensively he ain't great imo. And I don't blame Bates at all for Clayton. Warnock wanted to sell him, he put him on the transfer list because he wanted to bring in the likes of Norris.
