There is a hell of a difference between buying and selling small businesses and operating a major investment corporation - it's not just the zeros that change!

Now, if you had done your homework properly, you would have known that FSG bought LFC as a commercial operation. By their own admission they knew little to nothing about football, its financing or its operation. They have however swiftly climbed the learning curve, and changed the management structure of LFC to incorporate FSG management techniques. If you understood that then you could then go on to make some decisions about the style, nature and term of FSG's sporting investments. However, as you declined to take up my challenge for some Portfolio Analysis of FSG then I will hold to my contention that you are not informed.

BTW, I have been commissioned to advise international conglomerates on their portfolio analysis. I have been part of and led negotiating teams on their behalf in mergers, takeovers and joint ventures. Therefore from the corporate standpoint, I do know what I'm talking about.

I find the Spurs thing interesting. They seem to have been spending less each year since their big outlay in 2008/09. Especially this year they had several loans and free transfers. If we do indeed get Sigurdsson could this be a big blow to Spurs? The way they barged in with big wages (apparently) suggests maybe they needed this transfer (which to all involved is believe to be a good value deal) lined up for a main departure or two (i'm talking Modric but a Spurs fan may chime up and give me the different styles spiel). How much exactly are Spurs reigning in their spending? Maybe they aren't, but i've been puzzled as to why they spent decent amounts on players coming in up until they qualified for the Champions League and then didn't spend that money to stay there...

It's always nice to talk to you David, but I don't understand why you are so concerned about the fortunes of our club.

I'm glad there's a bit of cricket and a bit of preseason just around the corner as the euros are now over and the stupidity of hanging on every twitter feed for a morsel of information takes of in earnest.

I find this all rather boring, facile and I have to say i don't get why guys are losing thier rag on it.
