Firstly, it's 5 minutes walk mate, I do it every home game. If I can walk two miles in 5 minutes that's cool. By car it's probably two miles due to the traffic system.

Those 'railway lines' are part of the International Freight Terminal, and those 'Industrial buildings' are part of the most expensive commercial and industrial real estate in the UK outside of London, barely any of it is 'wasteland'.

Why would you question anything about something you know nothing about?

See that blue line, that's where the cars drive, to get to the Lowry Outlet. Salford Quays starts just the other side of the canal, technically not a stones throw but I didn't think that term was ever meant to be taken literally.

Terry man I'm on a wind up - I know the walking route as I've been to OT a number of times. BUT the immediate surrounding area of the ground is industrial and railway like smug says - it's a 15 minute walk (ish) to the quays and I wouldn't call that the surrounding area personally

As I've already said I was referring to the area around the ground, in response to a specific question, not the entire city.

The lad was asking about Old Trafford wasn't he, not an area 2 miles away from it where he most likely won't be going.

(Last time I was at Old Trafford I was 15. Game where Cantona chipped Lionel. 17 years ago. I'm guessing it's still a **** hole?)

I t doesn't matter what the railway lines belong to, it's still scruffy and many are disused.

Sorry mate, just having a **** day at work, no offence intended.

I never questioned it was industrial or railway. I only had one query and that was the 'wasteland' comment, just wondered why he used that word. No biggie anyhow, like I say I'm probably just on a rant cos my boss is being a tosser. Hope you all have a good Xmas/New Year and good luck with your fixtures!

Nice one - you too (although it;s more than 5 minutes for 0.7 miles I reckon as that's a fast running pace let alone walking pace!!)

I didn't know that, never been for a look down there to be honest.

Like I said to Marcus, just ignore me I'm just a bit frustrated, picking holes in anything today for the sake of it. Have a good one Smug.

Wayne Rooney couldn't get there in 5 minutes if he had a naked granny waiting for him <laugh>

That's what I was on about. Thought the area may have been developed after the 17 years since I've been there.

Can't understand why people don't sack off Christmas presents for theirs wives, children and family and just go to "unwinnable" games instead.

Yes it's unwinnable but being there is more important. it's my first semi-Final & it could be our last.

I think most people think their families are more important than football mate.

You mean Sunderland fans rather go to the pub & watch it?
