Hull/Mesaieed (Qatar), now live in Aqaba Jordan
In the last week I decided to buy a new laptop and upgrade my phone. Well that's sounds ok up to now.

Same problem doing both. Setting the bastards up. I got the galaxy s8.

It used to be a quick job. Now days later notificatiins coming from all over.

Don't get me going about passwords. Remembering them and all the changes that ive made.

Yes my head ****ing hurts nearly threw them both out the window

Or is it just me who goes through this torment. I am pretty good at this stuff but ffs.

I have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is I know a few people who have started displaying these symptoms, so you can take comfort in the knowlege that you are not alone. The bad news is that the symptoms you describe are an exact match for a chronic condition called getting old.

Whilst getting old can often be terminal and never improves, the symptoms can be managed to slow them down and ease or eradicate any suffering. Modern technology is one of the triggers to exacerbate your condition. There is a forumala to get a rough idea of what technology may be compatible and not lead to suffering. For computerised items like smart phones, pc's, tablets etc. it is as follows:

X - Y² = compatability factor.

Where X = the items year of release and Y = your age in years.

A positive value compatability factor generally means you will be ok to use the device, a negative value means generally not. There is a small gray area in the values within two digits of zero, where compatability, or lack of, is not guaranteed. You should check with the manufacturer of the device and someone half your age if you are unsure.

Hope this helps.

A sign of declining faculties is using American spellings of words like grey.

Technology is hell, I dread making any changes, I have been dithering for weeks over whether to re-new my current internet security, try an alternative or revert to AGV free which I used for years.

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I was issued with a new laptop by the IT Nazis at work. I lost my Not606 account and password and also all my hard earned "Likes". Fortunately we have a miracle worker of a Mod called OLM who sorted me out.

He's without doubt the go to man for all your IT issues... except for IPhone camera problems.
