I can't help feeling a bit like the proverbial spare tit atm. As far as I know I haven't seen the thread in question (thought it was the one yesterday about the UN - but clearly not).

Only putting my tuppence-worth in as people are referring to moderatorS, leaders and PC as if there's some sort of us, them and weird departures from commonsense going on.

We're not leaders, we're there to keep things moderate on our board. We did not impose ourselves on you. Northolt was pretty much unanimously voted in as mod back in April; and I was press-ganged sometime last month.

Northolt clearly has a great deal of experience on these message boards and rarely makes a bad call imo. If he's decided the thread needed to be removed, that's good enough for me.

As for James, I don't know what he said on Saturday but it would have been better if he simply accepted the moderating action rather than going on about it (now I understand what Northolt's 'dog with a bone' image was all about yesterday!).

As for the PC bit, the site's supermod (deputy chief) cyprus syd sets out the parameters in his 'Welcome to Not606' intro at the top of the contents screen; and we reitterated them in the ground rules for this board. These were put up for your comments for days before we went 'live'. As I recall, only one out of all our members questioned the equalities clause - and that wasn't James the One.

Why we're banging on about a decision made four days ago is beyond me.

If anyone is interested in replacing either Northolt or me as moderator on here, please speak up. I for one will not stand in your way.
