At least it's better than, "Oh my days".
Anyone who says that deserves a slap.

Also people who say "axe" instead of ask.

People who raise intonation at the end of a sentence (when it isn't even a question) to force whoever they are talking to into saying "yeah" to prove that they are paying attention. Australians do it by default due to their accent so that is fair enough, but as for you assholes out there who do it on purpose: may you die a terrible, terrible death.

Hey Si, I've not seen you on here for a while, (seen you on twitter occasionally) hope you're on good form.
Agree with axe instead of ask, definitely an "Americanism" hope I'm allowed to say that, that is creeping into our vocabulary.
Nothing to do with a football thread or sports related, I hate "Trick or treat", and the latest thing "Baby showers" <steam>

I know in Futurama they suggest this is simply the new direction for the English language, in the year 3000 the word 'ask' doesn't exist...

That's mainly a black thing, with the exception of a few wiggas who like to pretend to be black.

I agree with the last part, certain (by that I mean all) Americanisms really wind me up.

Sounds like my kind of party!

Another thing that annoys me is when people say 'shouldn't of' instead of 'shouldn't have'. Maybe i'm being pedantic I don't know.

On a lighter note, I do find it funny when people use malapropisms. A mate of mine kept referring to a 'damp squid'. We found it too amusing to correct him.

Likewise. When I was a teenager I corrected my 5-year-old cousin on her use of the phrase "we was" and, apparently, my aunt and uncle took umbrage with me doing so and told my mother that I had been incredibly rude. Perhaps if they'd raised their daughter properly, I wouldn't have had to bother.

You are an evil man and will burn in Hell.
