£2m on the deadline day is my prediction. They wont want to pay his wages then get nothing.

Poker it is, take the contract scenarios out of the equation, at reported 5mill for a player we need is nothing.

Who is best bluffer cos if Kazan decided it is they who hold the cards we risk losing a player who is a necessity for us right now in our current situation and wouldn't be fit enough until say February. Hmmm

If we are guaranteed to get him Jan 1st it would be idiotic to sign him for the 6m that's now being reported for 4 months of the season.

I think we're just being sensible here. It's like paying a loan fee of 6m for someone coming to the end of their contract... You just don't do it. I feel far more at ease about this now.

We hold all the cards here. Because he's useless to everyone but us now if true. But we could get by till January. Kazan could end up with nothing here. That price will come down. I think he'll be here on Transfer Deadline Day. If this is indeed the situation the sensible thing would be to draw it out till deadline day. Because Kazan have everything to lose.

I was fuming a week ago but if this M'Vila situation as well as the Kone thing are true I think we've played them both out like pros.

It is a lot yes for 4 months but you have to think how long will it take to get him up to match fitness after being out for what will be 6-7 months coupled with the fact we have Larsson out for 6 months, Kirchoff is made of glass and Cattermole often has niggles and previously a lot of suspensions.

I can pick arguments for both sides on who is in a strong position, I don't think we can afford to wait till 2017 though, squad is too weak.

    Humble pie?

I've been there many times with this club, believe me. I'm a lot more relaxed and willing to give them time these days.

I was very impressed with Bain before he came here so there's no way I was jumping on his back.

I have to say I agree with the club on this one. Take the emotion out of it and it's a smart business deal. We could loan someone else for 6 months, or sign someone like Flamini as cover on a short contract.

We have lots of options Kazan have 2. Take some money or get less than nothing as they will have 100k a week in wages to pay for 4.5 months (that's 2million).

Well since the Summer started I've been saying sign a pre agreement with M'Vila. Seemed the best way to gain control of the situation. Seems like Bain is bringing common sense to the table. Something Maggie clearly lacked.

The stand out thing is we've stopped looking weak. I like that but you can't show a single crack. The down side is fan backlash with impatience. We've looked all over the place so far this window but now the water is clearing you can see we're actually toughening up. Bain is doing well considering the state short had us in going into this window.

If they carry on dealing with stuff well they'll gain our trust and we'll be off their backs a little more than we currently are. We're just so used to them being a joke that I for one expect them to **** everything up.

Random one... What happened with Alvarez? Did I miss a conclusion to that when I moved over here. Can't see owt online.

Still not been sorted. That particular process has been backed up with all the corruption and a wide spread changes at FIFA.

Is not Yann banished to France by Kazan? If so, there is nowt to stop him coming over to us and training and taking part in everything but first team games?

If he's under contract with Kazan then he'd need their permission, which surely they wouldn't give.

Understand that, but they don't want him any near them so is he not free to do what he likes. He could say he was on a cultural visit at least!

    I don't think you do <laugh>

He needs their permission mate, just because they might not want him to train with their squad, doesn't mean he can swan off and train for anybody he likes. He's still their player.
