But I just want vertonghen so that we save up enough money for other areas of need <wah> (thoug I've chnaged my mind recently I now think we need a back up striker)

On another note interesting to see how divided the board is with regards to who we will get. Most either think we will get either both or none of them.

From the comments people said they wanted both. I think they misunderstood your question and your poll.

I think most people realise that we will probably not buy anyone of note yet again.

I think it is vital we get another striker because we are putting an awful lot of eggs into one basket - hoping/expecting Gervinho to come good and hoping (assuming RVP stays) RVP and Pod don't get injured - if either one do we'll be relying on the other - much like we relied on RVP all season. We need 3 decent strikers and with Pod we only have 2.

what decent striker is going to come to a club that has RvP and Podolski already and a policy of zero rotation?
Ryo, Oxo, Theo, Gervinho on the wings - and that's if Podolski is on the bench rather than the left.

No striker of any worth will come to Arsenal now because they will know they won't get game time - look at Park & Chamakh this year. They will be relying on a work permit for Joel Campbell or promoting Afobe.

So you think if we get the to afore mentioned.targets we should.end our summer purchases. I was previously keen on gotze.or eriksen but now.that they areny coming i rather promote.from within. Campbell isnt ready yet. Afobe may be ready for a tbird strker but we need one.more

I think they will. Doesn't need to be a top choice striker just a decent striker.

Indeed. More your Defoe level of ability. Good, not awesome but certainly useful to bring on for 20-30 minutes or play your cup games. This isn't meant to be insulting to Defoe but unless you've City's resources you can't afford to have 3 amazing strikers at your club.

The problem with our striker rotation this season was it was just Park, Chamakh and RVP. Park looked way out of his depth, Chamakh a nervous wreck and therefore we had to rely too heavily on Van Persie. Wenger couldn't afford to drop him considering how poorly we were playing. I think if we'd had a better calibre of forwards then he'd have rotated more.

Back on topic I said none. Simply because we've been here before. Out of the two I'd prefer M'Vila but think both would be a huge boost to the club.
