http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-reveals-Anfields-delusions-of-grandeur.html# Love this review in the Telegraph.
Seems to be the theme in everything .... Off the field and these days on the field. I have this vision of Liverpool fans insisting that the league tables in the paper are printed upside down and that after flipping the page exclaim "see .... we are going to qualify foe Europe and should win the Prem".
And you wonder why he had to leave a small club like ours when a big club like Liverpool comes along.....No contest really is there.....Well done Brendan anyone of us who was in your shoes would have done the same thing.....There is a bit of sour grapes here from some but the majority wish you and Joe Allen well and agree with your appointment...
There is clearly a disconnect at Liverpool. Either Liverpool were in as bad a shape as many of us were assuming. Or ... BR is not as smart as he's blarney'd everybody at Liverpool into thinking that he is. Or ... as many had predicted getting quasi-hoof-ball Liverpool to transform into the New Swansalona and string passes together is tougher than it looks (despite the all hallowed Rogers and Allen - sounds like a variety comedy act doesn't it) and requires seasons to accomplish. But I look at the table and I see Liverpool in the bottom 3 and win-less .... the plot's been lost somewhere, this is not how it's supposed to be. Even Wigan are doing better and we all thought they'd be a fair bet to be relegated. Early days yet I have to say .... but one week blends into another, then you're at Christmas, then you're scrambling to acquire something of a salvation in the transfer window, then you're sweating bullets as you head into April. It's not sour grapes, it's entertainment. We're entitled to a ring side seat for the circus; we've paid the price. We were raided - ok we ultimately received compensation (not complaining there) - but Liverpool got what they coveted and didn't care two ****s about us.
Why should Brendan care two hoots about us???? Does sir alex care about us does any past manager care about us, will laudrup when he leaves give two hoots about us.....of course they wont ....Its just a job to them at the time and nothing more, just like the players...
So what you're saying Dai is that all is fair in love, war and football - and I'm perfectly happy with that .... in which case, it's not sour grapes that we revel in Liverpool's current misery in the league table or their vane attempts to re-inflate their brand and build BR in to a messiah ahead of his time (i.e. before he's won anything).
Forgive me if I`m wrong Dai, I assume that the above quote relates to our Ex Managers. Where does Sir Alex come into that? Just a question and I may have got the wrong end of the stick. Accept my apologies if I have. I personally could`nt care less about BR or Liverpool and the less said about them, the better as far as I`m concerned. One point though, where was Arsenal this time last season and where did they finish in the league? At the moment we are slipping, albeit slightly, down a few places, so our concerns, as always, should be our club. Having said all that, so far it`s quite amusing, we`ll see what the next few episodes bring. If you need to, you can contact me @#keepyourferkinghairon.largehead
