This is getting boring. I do not hate Wenger. He has been the single biggest agent for change at our club.
However time marches on - he has lost most of what he brought to the club.
In fact I even think he does not fight the Board over policy and is content to accept what they want - after all he will go in 2 years time.

Let me lay out my position for you, as clearly you are struggling and creating your own version of reality.

I think some posters on here are wums. This fact has absolutely nothing, zero, nada to do with the RVP issue.

I do not think that posters who think RVP is leaving for trophies and believe it is the manager/board's fault are wums. I simply disagree with their guesswork and my reasons for disagreeing are based upon my own guesswork, as that is all any of us has to work with.

Some of the posters I have always thought were wums, are (imo) using the RVP situation to go on yet another relentless AW rampage.

You and I disagree about RVP's motives yet I do not accuse you of being a wum. Do you see that?

AW might or might not be buying more players this window. We simply do not know, yet some are already accusing him of lacking ambition because he is not buying players. Do you see any logic in that?

I am willing to wait and see whether we buy or not because I do not have a pathological hatred of AW, the board and/or AFC as those I believe are wums do.

I hope I have explained my position sufficiently this time.

I didn't say that because that is untrue and typical of one of you BS, inaccurate, snide rebuffs.

Everyone claiming there is not much more the club could do to show loyalty, after signing Pod and Giroud are being utterly ridiculous.

What did we spend on those players ? Next to nothing in the great scheme of things. How does this show ambition ? Nasri left last season for the exact same reason, he asked to see investment in the squad and what he saw was Jenkinson and Gervinho. How does this show ambition ? It doesn't, it shows "more of the same" and that is not good enough when every season we are losing top players.

Buying a good attacking midfielder and a top defender would show ambition - considering these are areas we need to improve upon. All Pod and Giroud are are replacements for the duds we have - when you consider Park and Chamakh are just making up the numbers. How are we addressing our leaky defence ? How are we addressing our light weight midfield ? where is our number 2 goalkeeper ?

Some of you are far too easily pleased. I am far happier about the coming start to the season than last but make no mistake, token gestures are not enough and we will lose our best players, as we have every season since 2005, until we address this.

The problem is the board NOT Wenger <ok>

What will it take for people to realise that the ship is sinking ? Theo and Wilshere to leave citing the same reasons as those before them - a lack of ambition ??? Qualification for the CL is NOT a sign of ambition !

HH, I have looked, but can not find anyone, let alone everyone, that has said this? Have you allowed BDM or Tuffers to log into your account so that they can post lies under your name?

I'm guessing not, so how about something factual to back up such foolishness?

The problem with part 1 of your post is, we have already proved that we can move swiftly in the transfer market, so what are we waiting for ? the argument that transfers take a while doesn't wash as Arsenal have already proved otherwise with Pod and Giroud. Part 2 of your post, waiting to see what will happen, is dangerous because we did that last year - and did nothing - which resulted in the worst start for 58 years. The club are all out of luck when it comes to asking the fans for patience !!

I think waiting for fan's patience is dependant on the age of the fan. There are plenty of fans who supported the club between 1953 and 1970 when we won **** all. They were patient and carried on supporting the team

this is one of a few posts I have seen in recent days that claim the club couldn't show any more ambition. I have commented on these comments arguing that we have spent no more than we normally would have spent - as proof that we have NOT shown any more ambition than normal.

I am not saying that you call everyone a wum who disagrees with you, what I am saying is that some fans are rightly complaining about our current situation but much of it is speculation and this is also the case on your side of the argument. I know you haven't called me a wum because by now I would hope that you know me well enough to understand that I am very passionate about the club <ok>. My view also is that the recent players that have left have solid arguments when they cite a lack of ambition from our boardroom. I hope this clarifies things

Very true GoonerC, but times have changed and the expectations from when I was a fan (late 70s) are nothing like the expectations of today ! Money talks, the fans pay top money and expect to see a return on it.

are you suggesting that it the amount spent, not the quality of signings, is what determines our ambition? If we had spent £35m on each of Pod and Giroud, our ambition factor would have risen significantly?

I think the fact that we have bought 2 quality players so early shows a vast improvement in our direction when compared to last year. Ergo, our ambition has increased, but it needs to continue throughout the rest of the window.

As for the speed of transfers, AW can not dictate to other clubs, players or their agents as to how quickly they must make a decision. Some will be resolved quickly, some slower. Nevertheless, 2 in 5 days is a mammoth step forward for us which I hope is the start of a sea change in our club's attitude to the transfer market.

Which is exactly what you are hoping for so that you can cry about mod brutality once again.

So, just to spoil your fun, I shall ignore your wheedling & **** stirring for now :)
