And by the **** do we know this in our Cities, talk about the tail wagging the ****ing dog. I wonder how many of these people will remain in the UK if the Ukraine thing kicks off big style and the **** hits the fan? There will be a trench of British passports leading all the way up to major airports in the UK!!

I think there's gonna be a few leaving soon, the forum is on its arse. It's at times like this when people start controversial threads to generate debate.

You should stay to be fair, the quality of your posts are generally always worth investing time in, if you decide to do one though I hope your move to Oz goes well and the marriage etc, you're a good guy, an asset around here.

Haway Di5co. We need to allow people to be different. My wife is muslim but I dont let any of this stuff get to me.

I also know that all of the guy's on here who get a bit anti-islam at times would be totally fine if we all ever met up and they met her.

It's the silly season. The football's back in 7 weeks and normal service will be resumed.

    Stick with it mate.

If you had never correlated the "Teutonic Nazi party with Christians I would not have felt the need mate.
For the record, I wholeheartedly agree that we should not lumber all Muslims with the terrorist tag. In my experience the vast majority are decent human beings. However, what does worry me is the way they that the vast majority of Muslims in every city in Britain are forming their own communities, both geographical and cultural, that is separate from the wider community. This for me is causing ever increasing division and needs to be addressed.

My point, which I mentioned later is that religion is just another ideology.

Politics = Religion as far as Im concerned.

Too many people blinkered by an idea. And most of their followers, religious or political are just too ****ing stupid to understand the -ology concerned.

Thats why I'm anti -religion and anti-party politics

I can't say that I'm anti religion, but just can't get why some people are so blinkered and obsessed by it without a shred of evidence to support the claim of there being a God.
Politics is a different matter, and I bloody love it..

RAW, there's no difference mate. Both are a belief in a system. A means to explain who we are, how we live, and how we differentiate ourselves from others.

What we need is an ideology that the whole of mankind can subscribe to.

    Sadly that will never happen.

We are an intelligent species, heightened by our knowledge and intellect, diminished by our beliefs.

And ultimately, probably doomed by our innate selfishness.

But I remain an optimist. I have to. I have children.

You too Joe! That picture of Tees with his boys was great mate.

    A proud dad and grandad!

In a couple of years, but not just yet, I'm hoping for a picture like that.

You will get that mate, Like I said I started early, I was 19 when Tees was born. He's a cracking lad, has his dads looks, style, ambition etc but his mother's impatience. All in all he's a sound lad and does me proud..<ok>

    Enjoy your night Sandy..<ok>

This board is quite a unique environment though. Pretty easy to spark a massive dust up. Unfortunately, threads like these, have a habit of bringing out the worst in people (or perhaps you discover what people are really like) and it leads to a messy end.

Disco shouldn't leave though. If he does, I'll trawl through Oxford, find him and get him to log back on <laugh>

I will be coming down to York for the races on the 25th of July. If it's OK with you mate, me and my good lady were hoping to pop round to see you all for half an hour before meeting up with the rest of the party..

The perfect examples of misusing religion for political ends is best summed up in WW1 when the Kaiser encouraged the Arabs to rise up in a jihad to destabilise the middle east. Our T E Lawrence and Germany's Max Oppenheim then both lied to the Arabs about their prospects once they had driven the Brits out of Egypt orTurks out of Arabia. At the end of all that new boundaries were drawn inventing all the countries we recognise today so maybe the Arabs are just putting their old tribal lands back together.
