It's a bit of an understatement in the Middle East at the moment. But I worked with a few Phillipino Muslims who used to talk about Sunni and Shia pretty much the same way as Englishmen talk about Catholic and Protestant (excluding their experiences in Ireland, of course ). It was kind of grudging acceptance of each other, nothing worse.
They kill Christians (The people of the Cross) as they see that as idol worship yet they all scoot off to Mecca to dance round and bow down to worship a lump of black rock. How do they work that out?
Aye, it makes you think that it was women that challenged those two black chaps. I done seven tours in Ulster & the only section of the community that were throwing stones, balloons & condoms filled with piss & petrol bombs at me was the Catholics. That said, my brother in law, my best mate & the woman I love are all Catholic.
Do we just have to deal with it then, because there's no way of applying a filter to this crowd to determine the 'dickheads'? There's not going to be a systematic extermination of Muslims, SS-style so I don't know why people are so quick to defend the innocent ones. I've met literally thousands of Muslims in my life, many nice ones, the nicest guy I've ever met is from Syria. I've also met ****ing vermin Muslims, scroungers and rat-like horrible ****s who I'd just love to smash, but they're not in a hurry to join ISIS. I've met some fundamental Muslims, who were pretty ****ing radical in their way of behaving around others. What I have witnessed with my own eyes and ears, is a reluctance for them to change their belief system to suit a new environment. You don't see Gorillas in town centres (outside of Liverpool) attempting to make nests, they perish, they'd be shot. They need to live in a natural habitat, it's what millions of years of evolution has taught them, yet people of Islamic faith fail to recognise that the same rules apply to them, if they cannot adapt to their new surroundings, they will not thrive, they will perish and live a life of Jihad. They want to have it all their own way and will stop at nothing, those people usually end up dead, in a messy way.
Same way as we do but in reverse. Cross or rock - they're all idols at the end of the day. And Christians have burnt enough "witches" in their time. I don't believe any of it.
Logic and religion have **** all in common Grandpops. I can't abide religion, like many on here. To me religion is a psychological weakness. I don't need it to explain why I'm here. That's what science is there for, even if they don't have the answers yet. My wife's beliefs are something we don't discuss and it never comes between us. For me its her right to be wrong and my right to be right I still believe people should have the right to believe in anything they want to. Except RAW. He's just wrong!
Absolutely. The eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, stripe for a stripe passage certainly applies. I agree it`s about power and control. The caliphate is all about wotsisface (Baghdadi is it?) wanting to rule his own country. The trouble is he`s using Muhammads methods.
Same here mate, I never really attempt to stop my Mrs believing in god, if it gives her hope or somebody to ask to sort her out with the right Euromillions numbers, what harm can it do? Where my Mrs and your Mrs differ from the ones we are discussing though mate, is that they have chosen to relinquish the archaic teachings they are advised (use that term loosely where applicable, we all know it's forced in many cultures) to live their lives by. It's possible to find a balance, but like Billy and I were discussing earlier, ethnic cleansing really doesn't help people find a balance, it only encourages them further to be segregated from the rest of us, there's your catch 22 because most people, I'd imagine wouldn't want a bunch of refugees dumped on their doorstep in this country, we are not a very welcoming nation!
Absolutely mate. On your last point, hate to admit it but I'm as much a nimby as the next guy. Rather a sad reflection on society that.
Mate I went to all lengths when choosing where to buy my house, to make sure I wasn't in an area that was heavily populated with ethnic minorities. The day I got the keys I met the local shopkeeper, looks like ****ing Abu Hamza! He's hilarious though, caught him making a Slush Puppy with Magners in it the other day he thought there was nobody in his shop. I wonder if it was for him or the next kid who walked in.
