Best concert i ever saw was Queen...4 times actually lol. Freddie Mercury was the most incredible showman. my first concert was Rush lol.
<blush> Sorry, Hornette, ignoramus that I am, I had never heard of him . I need to do some reading up. I was backstage on the last night of Pink Floyd's record-breaking Earls Court gigs. <blush> Never been overly a fan of them, but the very lovely Kate Bush was there and I was mightily impressed by her ;-).
I saw Rush at a bike rally one year, might have been a bulldog bash ! cant remember many details coz I was trashed!! Saw Debbie Harry at a bike rally too that was really good!
SLB, no need to blush, but i'm sure you'll know him when you hear him Oooh Kate Bush, now she was whacky! i really loved her music, she had a fab voice, but one that you either loved or hated. Norway - lol saw Debbie Harry interviewed a couple of weeks ago, she actually hasn't changed much, though she's obviously older, but then, aren't we all! lol
Aaah, Debbie Blondie (another one from 'Live in Belfast'). She was seriously hot . It's OK, Mrs SLB knows about my imaginary dalliances with Debbie, Kate Bush, and, dare I say it, Jane Asher. As a ten year-old there was the then young Sue Lawley. And of course, I got a Blue Peter badge for declaring my undying 7 year-old love of Lesley Judd. <sigh> ;-)
SLB Do you remember Debbie singing atomic on top of the pops wearing a black bin liner!!! WOW!!!!!! she was red hot!! Every schoolboys dream!!!
lol ... see now i can't join in ...though i do remember all the boys at school drooling over Debbie Harry...i was just following them round with a towel lol
lol..funny, i can join in with the football discussions, but when it comes to drooling over Debbie Harry..i'm out lol
Do I, Norway ;-) ? Hornette. That reminds me of a Hot Lips line from MASH. A pretty new nurse walks past Hawkeye and his mate, their conversation stops and Hot Lips says to Hawkeye: "Put that tongue away, someone'll trip over it!"
lol but it's a great stat! It was a great programme! i wonder how it would be now...i reckon it's the kind of programme that could stand the test of time...
We could do a great telly thread. Mrs SLB bought me complete Twin Peaks on DVD for me birthday. That was really amazing telly, so well directed, written, acted, produced - proper high quality TV that overshadows pretty much everything in these dumbed down days.
Making room in the attic for more incoming junk I found a boxset of star wars videos!! anyone got a vhs video recorder!!!
Some do, some don't, Hornette, it's funny isn't it? Twin Peaks is 20 years old . Watched it recently and it truly doesn't date at all. Top, top stuff. I recently worked with a lovely young lad about 20yrs of age, he was huge into 'The Young Ones', constantly quoting it. He lent me it, I watched it again, and it was really funny. It's dated in many respects, but it was hugely ahead of its time. There was a 1987 episode of 'Terry and June' on some Dave/ITV4 whatever channel recently and it was bloody horrible. It was made 4 years after The Young Ones.
