Rubbish!! All the cups would be half empty by the time he got them to the customers, what with all that arm waving!!
Article 18 Parargraph 3 - A club intending to conclude a contract with a professional must inform the playerâs current club in writing before entering into negotiations with him. A professional shall only be free to conclude a contract with another club if his contract with his present club has expired or is due to expire within six months.
This part I absolutely love. People go on about the excitement of the championship but in my opinion there's some really ****e teams in this league who play for a draw in away games and are very anti-football. We are one of the best away sides (perhaps the best?) in this division and we do it through outfootballing teams at their own ground. NP seemed devestated that we only drew at Bristol City, Donny and Brighton. I mean if we'd won those 3 that'd have been 8 wins in a row and you can see he genuinely believes we should be doing that. His ambition is spot-on and the same goes for the players, it shows we are an attacking, footballing side, I'm very proud of that.
I could have sworn that in this country you can only enter negotiations without permission from the owning club in the players final month of their contract. Is that just a premier league rule then?
I absolutely agree with this, NP sounded gutted after the draw at Bristol and likewise at Donny and Brighton, even with Brighton (who gave West Ham a good game last night) above us in the table at the time of playing. It's great to have a manager who has sets high standards, is ambitious and believes in the capabilities of his squad. It's also good to see that we don't revert to anti-football tactics like some teams in this league. Take that NP knockers!
That's not right. midlands_tiger is correct. I don't know if it's an Fa rule or a gentlemans agreement or whatever but only foreign clubs can approach our players in the last 6 months of the contract. Domestic clubs have to wait. Domestic clubs can approach players at foreign clubs.
Adam Pearson to the Fail (lifted from CI): 'There's absolutely no need to sell players whatsoever. If anything we'll be looking to strengthen in January in key positions and if we're going to make a sustained bid for promotion, that will definitely need to happen.' Before going on to claim - 'There can always be a threat (of interest) but if it does happen it means we are doing well. We'd have to deal with that if or when it came along. I would hope all of our young players are going to play Premier League football with Hull City. If we did manage to get up there I don't think it would be a case where we had to rip the side apart. These guys here can step up to the next level and improve further.' Before concluding - 'All of the young players we've signed have gone up in value and that's what you always try and achieve as a club. I read about reports linking Lewis Dunk at Brighton to big clubs but I don't feel as though there's a better centre-half in the league than James Chester. He's a fantastic asset, as are Cameron (Stewart), Corry (Evans) and Joe (Dudgeon)' Meanwhile, when the January window does arrive, City are likely to try and extend the loan spell of Robbie Brady from Manchester United for the entire season, plus attempt to secure striker Martyn Waghorn permanently. In addition, City will probably try and source outgoing deals for fringe players Seyi Olofinjana and James Harper in midfield.
I thought that you were right in the first place? I thought as a result of Bosman any player could enter into a pre-contract agreement in the final 6 months of their contract, and not just restricted to "foreign" transfers. I also recall there were several players signing pre-contract agreements last season (although I can't now recall who they were). Still, if Midlands and Theo are right, you live and learn
players who are into there final 6 months are not going to get another contract can & DO talk to other clubs. or shall i say there agents do.
spot on there. that is what happens. in some cases contracts are agreed on and signed,, Just post dated.
