There's a treasure trove of early 80s new wave material from bands who didn't quite make a splash beyond their regional followings. Here's one from my college years, a Missouri-based band who could pack the pubs in the Midwest but had no reach beyond that. There were dozens upon dozens of bands like this around the US and Canada, and probably the UK as well. I suppose some of them might have hit it big had the internet been around.
