This fella's music would have become better known if he'd lived a bit longer. This one still sends a shiver up my spine.
If Tom Waits can be in this list (deservedly IMHO)... World Party - i.e. Karl Wallinger. Not many realise Robbie Williams covered this almost note for note. But to be fair the royalties helped Karl through his recovery from a brain aneurysm. Trivia note: Karl Wallinger is left-handed but learned to play a right-handed-strung guitar because the first guitar he borrowed was right handed and he didn't know the difference. If you are a guitarist watching him play chords "upside-down" is very odd.
Copy the url from the address bar of the clip in question. In the 'reply' box at the bottom of the thread, click the icon that is supposed to look like a bit of film reel, but looks more like a ladder, about 5th from the right. Paste your URL into the pop up box, and click "Embed" and then "post reply"
I would. It can be a pain in the arse to do on a phone. Shout out if you hit any snags, or say which one it is and I'll edit it into this reply.
You might recognise Gavin Clark's voice as he's the soundtrack to the majority of Shane Meadows films. Unbelievably talented songwriter, led a troubled life, and died tragically a couple of years ago. He did a lot of good stuff with UNKLE too.
Easy on an Android phone. On the YouTube clip there are some symbols in the top right hand corner. Click on the curved arrow. That opens up the share options. Press on the copy link one. Go to 606 site, press on the symbol DMD says looks like a ladder and just press on paste to put link in there then press embed and post and it is done. Takes less than a minute.
