Whatever you end up going with, I would recommend the approach I take, using iTunes (I guess other music software/players might allow something similar?)-

I have a playlist called "Running" in to which in throw all the songs that I think might be suitable, I've probably got about 300 in there at the moment.

I then have a smart playlist, which only picks from the songs in my "Running" playlist, and just filters it to the 50 least recently played.

I then play the smart playlist on my iPod (I use an iPod shuffle for running), so I'm pretty much guaranteed to get a different selection of songs each time and it's a while before any start repeating.

Good stuff that goes in there-

    Rocky Soundtrack
    Kaisers
    The Jam
    Led Zep
    Oasis
    Ska/Two Tone
    Erasure (really!)
    Sex Pistols
    Stone Roses
    Arctic Monkeys
    60s Pop

Rocky is already on my list,im guessing its on most people's list,
I find if im lagging near the end, it helps push you pass the wall.

Ive tried Oasis before,I like the band but they dont work for me in the gym.
Led zepplin - I tried them a few weeks ago and they are surprisingly good.

I can imagine Erasure being good, ill just make sure my ear phones arnt too loud, dont wanna give out the wrong impression.

Ive got Artics Teddy Picker,I will add the rest.

    Cheers for list and tips.
