Liverpool fans finally succumb the the fact that their star player is a diving con artist, and now actively encourage it.

Next up, they argree that to insult someone whilst making reference to the colour of their skin, is , indeed, racist, regardless of a claim to a distant relative having been a member of the black and white minstrels many moons ago.

Careful you are replying to a most special member.

Though I suspect you know this <ok>

No need, each and every member of this site feels embarrassed for you each time you post pal <ok>

Even more so when you miss the blatant jokes, like you inability to understand club rivalries and banter the other day. Embarrassing for a football fan really <ok>

So please dont be embarrassed for me <ok>

Jokes are supposed to be funny, your comment was not funny, ergo it failed. just my opinion, don't get all defensive and explanatory. Night 'pal', <ok>

I didnt actually say this was a joke, just that you miss them in your quest to sound erm.....whatever it is you try and do <ok>

This was a piss take, plain and simple. Poking fun at Suarez. Well deserved.

Plus, everyone else thought it was worth a chuckle, joke or not so you would be in the minority.

G'night

Why not? There is an advantage to be gained by diving, if he was the only player doing it then I would say cut it out, but he isn't is he. Take Ashley Young for example, he kept United in the title race last season by diving around and going down easily, so obviously it has its advantages and if a club like United feel the need to do it to gain an advantage then why should other clubs not do the same?

<ok>

That's funny!

Have any United players ever dived? Like Young, Rooney, Hernandez for example? No you say! Ok fair enough!

Who said no? Most of us openly admit that United, just like pretty much every other team, have players that dive, and when they do they usually have a dozen threads started about them instantly, so why should Suarez be any different after this blatant dive? Bale also blatantly dived today but at least he looked embarrassed while sliding along the floor, he obviously realized he had totally screwed up before he had even stopped moving.

Back to Suarez, I actually don't blame him for trying to con the referee, he is not getting clear penalties anyway so he might as well dive as it doesn't really make any difference, and he is not the only player to ever go down easily is he, no is the answer to that by the way!

<ok>

He doesn't get some decisions because of his overly dramatic actions, the slightest tap on the toe (and quite often with no contact at all) and he hurls himself through the air with a perfect tuck and roll (at least three times for the full effect) while screaming in pain with his arm in the air followed by the usual pulling down the sock and removing his shin pad to show the imaginary mark on his leg where he quite clearly never got hit. Ronaldo often suffered the same treatment from officials after he got his reputation for going down far too easily, especially during his final season at United where he got kicked from pillar to post and barely got anything in or around the box.

So he's a cheat and you want him to continue cheating, understood.

Do you want him to continue being racist too ?

I can understand Bale going down, if that keeper hadn't pulled out at the last second he would have received a hell of a kick. Wasn't a dive to me, he fell over after a bit of cowardice and looked quite embarrassed.

Suarez is just a cheat and not content with his first pathetic dive decided to flop to the ground in a two stage effort.

Still, im sure Liverpool fans will somehow add this incident to their pile of "proof" of a media/fa/ref bias against them.

As I said earlier, if he was the only player diving then he should stop, but he isn't. So why should he stop when in effect this would actually disadvantage his club in comparison to United, Spurs etc, clubs who have players who are known to dive?

As for the racist thing, the FA and Evra both stated that they thought he was not a racist, do you disagree with their findings...obviously you do judging by your comment, which begs the question, do you also disagree with other things that they have said, i.e. that he was 'probably' racially abusive? <ok>

Translation:

Its okay for Liverpool players to dive but not other teams.

Its also okay for us to insist Suarez is innocent and got stitched up by the corrupt FA. But he's not a racist! the FA said so and that bit happens to be true because its convenient to us.

The more I watch it, the more it reminds me of a primary school rugrat, throwing himself on the floor in a tantrum, just to get the attention of his elders.

Same result I suppose, as the law now states we mustn't smack a naughty child.

That's not what I am saying though is it. If Liverpool players were the only ones that dived then it would be out of order and should be stopped. But as long as other players dive then why should Liverpool disadvantage themselves? That applies to all team by the way.

As for Suarez' innocence, you can use your argument both ways. Other fans seem to think it is okay to say he is a racist and that he racially abused Evra, yet the FA only stated that he was 'probably' guilty of one of those. So if other fans can have it both ways and be selective when choosing which part of the FA judgement is to be believed, then why is it wrong for Liverpool fans to have the same selective attitude? <ok>

Pretty wierd view bbt, everyone else is doing it so its ok? Surely you don't really believe that.

Will never condone any of our players going down easily. Horrible tactic.

Despite his despicable cheating lowlife Suarez still cannot get the scousers up the table <ok>

Even the scousers fans are embarrassed by his cheating. Very few scousers (except for their extremely ******ed ones) argue that because others are doing it then it s fine that he does it. Many think tat tiki taka Rodgers should tell him to cut it out. The scousers are yet again having their reputation tarnished by lowlife Suarez <ok>

I do believe it actually, it's not very sporting but unless everyone stops it then the teams that don't dive will be at a disadvantage. As unfortunate as that sounds it is the truth.

There are loads of examples of when a dive has won the game for a team, and there will be loads more in the future. So not diving leaves you at a disadvantage and can cost you games.

Unless a panel was set up that started to heavily punish diving retrospectively then the divers will always dive and those that don't will get cheated out of points. It's fine saying its not in the spirit of the game and you condone it, but you wouldn't want to lose out on the title for example because City's players won points during the season due to diving and United's lads stayed on their feet, would you? <ok>

As for Suarez, he has been denied genuine penalties this season due to his reputation. So it's no use him playing fairly when he isn't getting the decisions that he should and Welbeck/Bale/etc are diving around winning penalties for nothing...that is not fair and any amount of corinthian spirit will not change this fact! <ok>

It is similar to Young last season, yet he was getting the decisions. So in fact he is a better 'cheat' than Suarez, which isn't something to be proud of really is it? When Young, Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez et al have dived for United, do you agree that this tarnishes United's reputation? Or does it not count when they do it as they are clearly better at cheating? <ok>
