We will not spend oodles in the summer and i will be amazed if we get a marquee signing, but what we will do next season is challenge for cl football. I am fairly certain i have never claimed next year will be our year and I dont think it will be for the league. I would not be surprised if we did not challenge for the title but finish third. My reasons for this deluded confidence are simple. Team motivation for next season is easy, stand team around Stevie G and just say - lets ****ing do this for him!!! Also I think we will challenge beating the so called lesser clubs, yes we have had glitches this season but think we doing better against the clubs we are supposed to be beating, a few years ago Arsenal challenged just by beating those they are supposed to beat and did not get a result against any of the top four. I also think that Moyes may leave Everton (sadly as he done a fantastic job) and Possibly bale from spuds which will help us, tho i do like AVB as a manager and he will spend funds well i think.
Can't we just re-name Anfield the "Too Small And Pokey To Compete With The Premier Elite, Which Is Why FSG Got The Club At A Bargain Price, As RSB Assured Everyone That There Was A Plan In Place To Build A New Stadium"?
I wouldn't mind this happening. As already mentioned, they won't be a sugar daddy as they're just sponsoring the club. FSG will still be running us. This is very good news because it now puts pressure on Standard Chartered to increase their sponsorship. I read that Ooredoo would be looking at a massive sponsorship deal including stadium name etc which could be worth around £300m. The encouraging quote is that they recognise that LFC need the cash injection to mix in with the heavyweights. Not only that, we'll increase our profile in the Middle East. This could potentially set us up for a good future. With regards to the stadium name - I hate the thought of changing it from Anfield but what I hate more is the fact that we're not competing with the big clubs (both on the pitch and financially). As I said above, a deal like this could be a major catalyst for our future.
"anfield, sponsored by" is what it'll be. I would look at what log they have cos guys we did stick adidas on the seats in anfield before so I have no issue with that being done as long as unlike standard charter they don't want BLUE!
please log in to view this image I'd not mind that round the ground or on the seats in the centenary stand.
Dear Jesus I've heard lots of people say "Jesus wept" when things go wrong. Does this mean you are a cry baby like Gazza and Nani? Surely you should man up a bit? Yours sincerely Swarbs
Dear Mr Swarbs, I have never cried. What they refer to is when I had pink eye one time. Things went wrong for me that day as I was misdiagnosed with conjunctivitis, got given the wrong eye drops and everything. It was a proper pain in the arse.
