I believe in God and I am a Catholic. There are elements of organised religion that I don't believe in like creationism and the Trinity (which was invented by the Church in the 3rd century I think it was). Fundamentally though I do believe in God.
"the heavily edited koran" Well there is absolutely no physical evidence that a man called 'Jesus Christ' ever existed. The 'gospels' were selected by the Roman Empire to suit there then faults. Muhamed did exist there is proof of that. So,don't knock anyone's beliefs unless you know better
When you're growing up, you believe what you're told - Santa, tooth fairy etc. Most people with any amount of intelligence can work out that religion, God and all the bullshit that goes with it is simply an out-dated notion that was used to explain away the wonders of their surroundings. The point i'm making is that just like the millions of children around the world who currently believe in Santa, their are millions of soft-in-the-head people like yourself who still haven't woken up to reality. Perhaps i'm being overly harsh and should just let you carry on with your tragic delusion? Oh no, looking at the news every single ****ing day and watching all the ****ing morons killing each other in the name of their 'faith' has sickened me to my core. Watching children get spat at and abused because of which part of Ireland they were raised in etc... It's so lame.
Jesus was not actually called Jesus Christ but he did exist. He was a carpenter and the son of Joseph and Mary who preached humility and love for your fellow man.
Both Christians and Muslims believe jesus existed but in different senses. While Christians see him as the sun of god Muslims view him as a prohet. I think they believe a tomb next to Muhammeds is reserved for Jesus.
Yes. I am a Catholic because I was raised a Catholic and no other reason as I don't agree with many of it's teachings. I believe in God because that is my choice and mine alone.
Thats fair enough. I dont believe in god but imo just believing in god isnt dangerous. Its the religions themselves that are the danger.
I wouldn't blame the religions themselves but the people who twist the religions to suit their agenda but that is a problem with religion that it can be twisted in that way. Religions are irrelevant anyway since they all worship the same God even if they call him different names.
Alternatively do you have evidence he didn't exist? It's called faith and I have it, you don't and that's fair enough.
Yes,the Roman census papers, which were apparently very scrupulous show no word of him or his family. The 'crucifiction' which were always documented in Roman documents,is'nt mentioned.WHY?
